FRC would show if you had a wife linked with your family.  In addition If your wife had a POC card you could add her to the FRC.   You can still add her now but it doesn't show up on the print out until she has a nationality card.

Do you have your old CNIC?  The one before you changed it to married?  That would show history if it shows you were unmarried before if you are unable to get a print out from NADRA.

At your interview what did they specifically say, in regards to, them thinking you were married before?  This would help in determining what you would need in order to prove otherwise.

They didn't ask me if I am married before I guess our lawyer made mistake on forum 325A biographic information she made mistake on that forum that's make them confuse about it and when my case was at us embassy I didn't register  my marriage I was single in nadra database when my case was return and my case was at usics in review someone told me to register my marriage with nadra so I register it I have forum where it's say I married with my wife but that document is in urdu language

One can file a return as married filing separately without the spouse physically living in the US.  And without a spouse having a social security number or a joint US bank account.

Please tell me she's not been filing as "single" all of these years....

i am Pakistani citizen my wife is a white American she filled her w2 nd they ask my CNIC number without ur husband ID u can't file tax returns ... so why ur wife need ur SS card or joint bank account or something else to file W2

Your wife is going to want to get her taxes amended if she's been filing "single" all these years.  Tax returns are also used as proof of a bonafide marriage.

She can file married.  But she will have to file a paper return instead of electronically.  Where it asks for you SS she will put NRA.  I am telling you this because I also filed single when I was married before my husband came over.  That came back to bite me about three years later and I had a big financial mess.  Luckily I was able to get it fixed by amending my taxes.  So she should file as married and if there are previous years that she filed single while you were married she needs to go back and amend this.

Many USCs who live apart from their spouse file taxes as Married Filing Separately...they didn't need the original foreign passport to do so...who's telling you that she needs your entire original passport to amend her taxes??

Not needed if doing "Married FIling Separately".   Your passport would only be needed if filing Jointly and submitting a W7 - requesting an ITIN.  If you had done that route the passport is only needed briefly when the form is submitted.

In any case the return must be filed on paper and not online.

Any of the national retail tax services should be able to help your wife.  Amending the old returns at the height of tax filing season is poor planning.

No they didn't ask for my husband's passport.  It is not needed if married filing separately.  Like everyone says - file paper and not electronically.

Paying taxes returns as married it's cost more or less or its charges extra money?
