Her interview is on July 9th, 2007 in Moscow.

1. How long should she plan to stay in Moscow ?

2. When should she plan to arrive in Moscow and leave ?

3. How does she get her visa back ?

3. Any cheap hotels near the US Embassy ?

4. How much will it cost her for this trip (She is from Vladivostok)

No, it should be delviered to her. It could take a couple weeks being Vlad is on the other side of the country.

1). Depends on what she needs to do there besides interview.

2). Before interview, after interview

3). It will come via DHL to wherever she tells them to send it to.

4). No

5). More than you would like.

If these answers seem vague and open-ended, it's because your questions are too. Provide more info and maybe you can get better answers - bu maybe not.

My fiancee also flew from Vlad. It was approximately $1000/USD for her ticket through Aeroflot. I researched the flight numbers on the internet (there's a direct flight daily from Vlad to Moscow) called the office in NYC and paid using my credit card. I had to fax an authorization to them, but it was a pretty simple process.

Her interview is on the 9th, that's on a Monday, so she'll have to be in Moscow at least a day earlier to make it to the interview on time. I would recommend maybe even going on that Saturday due to Vlad being 8 hours ahead of Moscow, and that's a significant change when trying to be awake and alert (and on time!) at an 8 A.M. interview. She also has to go to the DHL office to pre-pay for her visa shipping. I'm not sure if they're open on Sunday or not, so that may be another reason to go on Saturday. The DHL portion is covered in her packet, so she should be able to get that straightened out on her end when it's open or closed.

As for a cheap hotel, there isn't one. I recommend using Olesya Pomezan's (Russian Girl Friday) services through her website and e-mail. http://www.russiangirlfriday.com Your fiancee can stay in her flat for about $30/night and use the public transport system for about $3 to get from SVO to the flat. So, for Saturday night, Sunday night, Monday night, that's $90, plus transportation and a little "cash" money, you're looking at right around $1250 for the flight, accomodation, and the interview/DHL fee.

I actually had a cheaper price for the flight using the Internet and calling than my fiancee did at the local Aeroflot office. I bought the ticket and she picked it up at the local office. We both e-mailed back and forth with Olesya about using her flat, and she accepted cash on arrival. I sent my fiancee a little cash via Western Union about a week before the interview, just to make sure she had enough cash for everything.

Oh, since your fiancee is in Vlad, have her complete her medical check there, prior to the interview. She can do it any time after she gets her packet. If she does her interview at home, she only has to stay in Moscow for one day. But, like mentioned previously, she'll still have to pay for DHL and make sure she's at the interview EARLY in the morning, so that's why Saturday's probably better. I wouldn't have her leave on the day of the interview either, just in case something needs to be worked out or if there's a delay. The next day (Tuesday) should be fine.

How does the DHL portion work ? She goes to the DHL office, pays the money, gets the receipt and carries the receipt to the embassy ? What service should she tell the DHL office she is paying for ? How far away is the DHL office from the US embassy ? Where does she fill out the shipment information, at the interview or at the DHL office ? I thought she takes care of the DHL things at the embassy, not ?
