My bank tried to give me that to show my deposits for the past year. I insisted because I knew at the interview their wouldn't be time to look through all of that. It took some persistence, but I got the statement from my bank. They used my statements to add up all my deposits for the year.

I haven't sent mine yet, but I have enclosed: 3 years of full tax forms notorized (1040+attachments), 18 months of paystubs, and letter from my employer; all in triplicate. one copy for me; one copy for fiancee for interview day, and one copy for fiancee for VFS (new delhi consulate requires submission of documents to VFS 10-15 days in advance of interview).

I would not hesitate to send a truckload of paperwork if i think it can make it easier for my fiancee.

Wow that's a lot. I guess it depends on your consulate's requirements - if it's all necessary or required, you have to do it. I had two letters from my bank, a few months of statements, 3 paystubs and three years of tax transcripts.

If you are in the United States, the affidavit may besworn to or affirmed before an officer of U.S.Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) without the payment of fee, or before a notary publicor other officers authorized to administer oaths forgeneral purposes, in which case the official seal or certificate of authority to administer oaths must beaffixed.

I'll be doing this soon enough. The 134 is free?

They do say "as appropriate" in the instructions, so I think if you are well over the requirements of income and job stability, then I don't think you need to provide much. However, if you are self employed or have some other complications, then the more details the better, I expect!

Your absence runs through me like a needle

The fee refers to the cost of getting a document notarized. If an officier of USCIS notarizes a document (and I've never heard of that before) they are not allowed to charge you. Notaries and sometimes banks normally charge a fee.

What you need to provide with the I-134 really depends on the consulate's individual requirements - for example, tax returns are NOT a requirement unless you are self-employed, but some consulates seem to routinely expect to see three years worth.

There doesn't seem to be any other charge listed, though, so far as I can tell.... A Notary around here is only a few bucks at most anyway, though...

There is no fee directly associated with the I-134. Its not even a required document but it is the easiest way to satisfly the public charge concerns for most people. I would try your insurance agent or bank for notary services. Often there is no charge.

Unless you are self employed or have some other unique complication, like using assets instead of income to qualify, you don't need anything from your bank. Tax transcripts, an employer letter and recent pay stubs will do quite nicely. You simply provide this to your spouse to turn over if requested. Sometimes they don't request it at all.

Buck, is there a specific reason you are including bank records?

kitkat,

I which case the tax returns are not being provided "with" the I-134 - they are being provided separate from and independent of the I-134. I-134 and its' supporting documentation is only one piece of information that may (or may not) be required as evidence that the visa applicant meets the public charge provisions of the law. Other documentation is also required.

It's DS-2000 (formerly OF-167), not I-134, that tells one what financial documentation can be submitted to meet the public charge provisions of the law.

Buck,

I did not submit any of my financial information in duplicate. I did submit a photocopy of each of my bank statements for a 12-month period with my I-134. (But later on, for adjustment of status, I decided to not show my bank assets at all because my income was more than adequate.)
