Filing I-129F while Foreign National is in the US, USC overseas

We are about to file the I-129f and were wondering if anyone has run into issues/delays due to either or both of the following:

1) the Foreign fianc(e) is currently in the US, so we would fill in that part on the form

The alternative would be to file after the foreign fiance(e) leaves, in 3 weeks.

2) We are then meeting in Europe to see family etc and the USC will be away from the US mailing address for about a month.

Someone will be able to check mail and as far as I can tell we can check progress online.

Basically, is there any reason NOT to file asap due to the listed circumstances?

Thanks

I agree. Don't see any reason why you couldn't file now, based on what you have listed. If anything, it'll help the time pass quicker since you'll be together and NOT checking the post box every day....

BUT, if you get an RFE, you'll want to be able to address that ASAP. Your online status will not tell you what the RFE is for, specifically... only that they are asking for additional information. Doubtful that you'd receive an RFE in a month's time, but who knows....

Welcome to VJ and best wishes on your journey!

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.
