After months of agony, I have decided I must cancel this journey. I feel horrible, but in my heart I feel it would be worse if he came here and we got married.

What is the procedure? The NVC has supposedly sent the information to the Mexican embassy and he is now waiting on his packet.

Thank you for all of your help during this procedure.

Sorry to hear things didn't work out for you, but it is definitely better to deal with it now, rather than have your fiance come to the U.S., give up his life in his home country, and then tell him it isn't working out.

I hope you can both find peace and happiness in the future.

Best wishes.

Suzgeb, sorry to hear this news.

You should contact the consulate in Ciudad Juarez - I would email, call AND send a letter because they are not a very organized, well-run bunch:

picatue, she chose to call it off. Obviously this is often a long and difficult process - I've been waiting for more than 14 months. But since USCIS makes it possible for thousands and thousands of foreign fiances and spouses to legally come to the US, clearly their plan is not to separate lovers and end their relation.

Seriously! If you think its going to get better with a different president, I think you're in for some dissapointment. Legal immigration is clearly NOT a huge priority for the government.

Dear picatue,

Sorry for your difficulties. Many many many people experience difficult and long delays in this process and many others breeze right through with no problems whatsoever. Either way, if the relationship is strong and truly committed, it will survive. My fiance still doesn't have his visa - and there is no way in hell I would ever give up on him - if I have to move to his country, I will.

Now let's stop hijacking the topic.

I am actually quite impressed how quickly this process has been. It has been sad being apart from the woman I love. We spent our entire summer together. After 3 months of trying to live overseas... I decided to come back to Miami because the opportunity is much better in the US. I now make more money, I have no debt, I have saved lots of money and I am ready to start my family... and now I am able to have my fiancee come and get married thanks to our immigration system. This journey is 6 months... we love one another and these six months have brought us much closer and we both never want to leave each others side for even a moment! My impression is that the embassy has been the quickest so far in my journey... so if I had to put a blame on someone for something it would be the CSC because they are kinda slow in mailing me that NOA2. They claim to have mailed it on the 3rd of May.. still no letter. But the Embassy has not made me want to stop loving my fiancee, or making me want to stop this entire 6 month process.
