I'm just curious if anyone has entered the US by car or bus via the US/Mexico border. I think that might actually be the easiest way for my fiance to enter Texas, but at the same time I'm a little hesitant because it seems like the agents there probably don't deal with K1 visas often. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I know when my ex came back from visiting her family she took the bus from the TJ airport to Santa Ana. They all had to unload at the border and carry their luggage through immigration.

at el paso--they deal with fiance visa everday.

my fiancee and did all our stuff in jauraz and got the hell out of there, at the border. the officer took the paper work and walked my novia to the main office.

he directed me to some parking on the usa side of the border, p parked and i walked back to wait with beatriz.

the took her lazer visa/ her b1b2 visa out of her passport and stamped her new k1 visa that she had got at the embassy.(we had to give sealed envelope to agent)

she had to pay for a new 1-94 entry record.

if you live by the border---you always pay for the i-94

you get one every 6 months if you have a vistor/business vias(b1b2)

i had to pay for my fiance and her son--6 dollars each in el paso for the new 1-94 for thier passports.

Here's a POE story...

Luis crossed at the McAllen/Reynosa bridge and had a heck of a time.

They had NO IDEA what a K-1 was, and instead of looking it up, they just told him no right off the bat, that I had to be there with him for it to be valid. He called me panicked, he had a flight to catch in an hour. So I called the POE and gave them hell and they processed him quickly and he came back over. Just be prepared for people to be super negative if you hand them a visa they've never seen before. Know how it works, know your rights, and fight, and you should be fine.

Take care

Could you go into a bit more detail? What specifically did you do/say? How does it work when you get there? As you can tell, I really don't know what to expect. My fiance will most likely be entering through Reynosa/McAllen as I live in the Rio Grande Valley. I think I'll probably pick him up in Reynosa so I can be there when all this happens.

The one thing I could tell you from personal experience is: try to avoid going through there if you can. They are usually more rude and obnoxious than other POE when it comes to issueing I-94's, but to be fair, it is usually the mexican-american agents the ones that are the worst. I usually find officers at airports nicer and friendlier, and I've been told that the ones at the Laredo bridge are nicer too. If your fiancee has no choice, do make an effort to be there sice they are often nicer to you if an American citizen is with you listening to what they say, although last time this didn't work for me anymore :( . I guess they know there's nothing they can do to you as a citizen, and you can report them if they abuse their authority.

Hi, just curious if you went through the Reynosa/Hidalgo bridge. I'm planning to be there, but really want to be prepared for anything they throw at us. I can't imagine that K1 visas are that common at the bridge...
