I've been reading through some RFEs and I had a question about my divorce decree. I did not have to appear in court when the divorce was granted. The paper I have is titled "Judgement for Absolute Divorce Before the Clerk". The clerk of superior court is who granted the divorce and signed the form. Is that going to be enough? I have seen some RFEs for not having something signed by a judge. I'm wondering if I'm just second guessing myself.

Edit - I live in North Carolina

I got divorced through the mail in Mecklenburg county and I just sent on a one page thing with divorce judgment at the top and a signature at the bottom by a district court judge but it's just a scribble with no printed name. Not sure if that helps but I never had any questions about it.

Thank you! I'm hoping I'm just overthinking it now.

I just mailed in my packet with a divorce decree.  I went to the Courthouse to get a "fresh" copy and it  says "Divorce Absolute", has a raised seal (that did not come through on the photocopy) and the judge signature (from Massachusetts).  Its actually pretty simple paper for the work that it took to get it (ha)

it sounds like you are good, and i think its natural to over think everything...im trying to pull myself back from doing that daily.
