I-864A - proof of the same principal residence??

Hey there

I've searched the forums and can't find anything to clarify this so here goes - my wife is my primary sponsor. We are both currently living in the same house as her father, who is my co-sponsor. Therefore as I understand it he fills in a I-864A. He must also supply a 2006 tax return, W-2 (and preferabley letter from employer and earning statement). So far so good.

However the I-864A also asks for 'proof of relationship' between the sponsor and co-sponsor, and proof that they share the same principal residence. I take it that a copy of the co-sponsors birth certificate should give proof of relationship, but what proof of the same pricipal residence? Alls that I can think of is a photocopy of a bank statement from each of them that has their names and address on. Do you think this would suffice?

Yes bank statements, or how about a copy of both person's drivers license, they both should have same address listed on them.

Your father-in-law is not a "co-sponsor", he's your wife's Household Member. And he does not fill out an I-864A, he and your wife jointly execute the I-864A - it's an agreement between the two of them.
