I'm not sure. I'm hoping that once I get new passports for us, they can just reissue the visas without me having to wait for another interview date and go back to Montreal.
I guess I will find out when I receive the letters (hopefully).

Yep admin processing. No idea why. Guess it had something to do with fiancé being a Canadian permanent resident and not a citizen.

It was probably more to do with their country of citizenship.

Hey everyone! Successfully arrived in the US!

We plan to move to a new address within the next week or so and I’m wondering if anyone has the link to the USCIS change of address site? I googled but there are a few different ways I see that you can inform them. Wondering if we can just notify them through the online form or if the paper form is also required? Also do we need to fill out two separate forms, one for myself and one for my fiancé (even tho we are moving to the same address obviously) ?Thanks so much in advance! All the best to everyone!!

I spent the day at the passport office yesterday putting in new applications for myself and my kids.

Almost $800 later.. ugh. I can't pick them up until the 29th though. 😞

Canada post is already cutting a cheque for the cost.  And the executive support lady told me to send her the tracking number when the Consulate reissues the visas and she will personally track the package.

I'm still unsure of the next step though. The Consulate told me to contact them once I receive the new passports and they will give instruction then.

Apologies if I am repeating myself. Sometimes it's hard to keep track of whether I'm posting updates here, or on the Canada Post lost our passports/visas thread.

This stress is unreal. My eye has literally been twitching for weeks. I may need to take up drinking! (Haha kidding... kinda)

Congratulations to everyone who has already passed the POE. I hope it won't be too long before I can celebrate along with y'all. 😊

Thank you. I truly hope so too.

The Consulate sent me a contract to sign, which included a compensation amount. But I'm not going to sign it until I know whether or not I need to go back to Montreal. If I do, then I will need more than what they are offering. But if I don't, then I will accept and sign.

I really hope you won’t have to make that trip back to Montreal. So sorry you have to deal with this and I can’t  imagine the stress you must be feeling:(

I'm thinking you won't have to go back to Montreal, just based on the fact that for example if you get a visa with an error on it you can mail it back to MTL for correction and such. My hunch is they will offer you expedited shipping to send the new passport in and they'll send them expedited right back. Hopefully once you have the passports, the turnover for getting the visas will be very very short. 🤞🤞🤞
