Congratulations!! we are now here in montreal.. tomorrow will be my medical and next week will be the interview.. I guess explore this place first with my fiance. So happy for you!! I'm nervous for next week! 😂

Yay! Thank you!! Aw, well at least you have some time to explore! Montreal’s beautiful. I just went for a night and am currently headed home (Ontario). No need to be nervous! I think if you’re prepared and have all the documents you need, you’ll be fine! I was the first one there so was given the #1 laminated sheet. I was there at 7 for my 7:30 appointment, and I was walking out the door by literally 8:30 am ☺️. I wasn’t nervous, but just anxious and excited that the day was finally here! Just be prepared and relaxed, and you’ll be fine!!

Did you take care of this already? If not, it really depends on the tear. I've seen this happen pretty often. You should probably try to contact the consulate. I've seen people [from all dif countries] take it back to the consulate to be resealed.

How did you have it delivered?

We had the expedited delivery and picked it up from our local post office.

The tear isn't *that* big (there's no way you could pull anything out or even read anything that's in there), and from everything I've been told we should be fine... I"m just paranoid haha! I think so many of us are...

I'd agree with you there - if it's not a big enough tear to where clearly nothing could have been tampered with I'd say odds are in your favor. :)

We have a car and I think this is really the worst place to drive. My fiance was so pissed all this time. Haha. We just rented only because we are going to Ottawa and Quebec too.. and I don't know why we encounter few people that are not so nice just in our first day. I find them rude. We don't generalize all. Anyway when you're planing move in the US? :)  I hope i won't be nervous my fiance will be with me. No phones allowed right?

Yeah, I can imagine! Downtown Montreal is pretty crazy traffic wise, but I’m sure you guys will get used to it within a few days! Planing on moving in about four weeks! Need to wrap things up at work, then I’m taking a week off to pack and stuff. My fiancé will be coming that last week to help me pack, and then we’ll fly to Seattle together! ☺️ Yep, you can bring your phone, you just have to leave it with security when you get there. They give you a little ticket to pick it up when you’re done. ☺️

We had our interview march 6th and its still in Admin processing. Is everyone getting their passport back pretty quickly?

As far as what I've read from other people they received their passport after few days. Do you have any idea why its still on admin processing? Did you had a hard time on interview?

Thanks for that info. We just really need phone for the map thing. Goodluck to you! I'm planning to leave on 4 weeks too because of work. Wish you all the best! :)

No idea! Interview was super short.. 3 mins tops. He said approved and gave us the pink sheet. Could be something to do with fact that my fiance isn't a canadian citizen? She has her permanent residency. who know!? kinda getting anxious here. 🧔

Maybe it takes time for permanent resident. It will be fine. Or can we call or email the consulate about it. I myself is permanent resident here too in Canada.

AP can last days, weeks, months, years. No telling. Are you still in Montreal? This is exactly what I tried to caution you against a few months back when you were asking.

Read recent threads where people went into AP in Montreal - seems like they were in AP for a few weeks for most countries, some countries of origin much, much longer. And yes it tends to happen to PRs more often than citizens, my guess because it requires further background checks. Where is your fiance originally from? Could play a role.

India is a high fraud country, so this is not surprising. Hopefully it won't be long for you, but it could be. Did they ask for any school transcripts or a CV at the interview?

No they didn't ask for it..though we had all that prepared to give it to them.
