Anyone else ever get this random email from USCIS? I just got it this morning. I didn’t email them or anything. They just sent it kinda out of the blue. So strange

I'm pretty sure I've seen people post about this before. Did you never get any electronic updates for NOA2? Our case online at USCIS STILL says "received", we only got hard copy NOA2 - I wonder if they just automatically send that out at a certain date to cases still shown as pending.

Do you guys remember when your case changed from "In Transit" to "Ready"? (I think that's what it will say next?)

Our case left the NVC last Tuesday, I know from the dhl hack that was delivered and signed for on Thursday, but CEAC still says "In Transit". I'm guessing this means it is sitting unscanned in their mailroom haha

yay! Ours changed to READY on December 10, and once we received packet 3 in the mail around Dec 26th... it was dated Dec 12th. Keep your eye out for any status date changes, the next change will probably mean P3 sent off to ya!

Mine changed from "In transit" (January 22) to "Ready" ( January 30) after the Consulate received my petition (January 24) and another Case update last Feb 8

is P3 sent through email or mail by Montreal Consulate? I read on the other thread most embassies they're sending it through email

Recently they've all been coming only via snail mail. But people have had success with sending in their P3 reply before getting it in the mail. If you see your status update date change, you could wait a day or two and email your P3 in and see what happens. It's kind of a timing guessing game.

Montreal is in a stone age of snail mail and macro form responses that may or may not (likely not) be related to what you email them about.

I'm definitely going with 'Likely not'. 😂🤣
I emailed them twice asking if I need a separate affidavit of support for each of us (myself and my 3 kids) or if I only need one affidavit of support for the whole family. The first time they completely disregarded my question, and the second time, their answer isn't even an answer that makes sense.
THIS was there response 🙄

I’m just looking at the form, but I would think you need just one? Your kids would go under “Beneficiary’s Children” right? And then in Part 3 under “I have submitted on behalf of” you and your kids would get listed there too?

That's what I would think too, but the instructions for the form says "The sponsor must file a separate affidavit for each applicant". The form really isn't set up for children so it's rather confusing.
I will just play it safe and bring 4 of them along. If I need them, then I have them ready.. and if I didn't need them, then the extra killed trees can be on their karma. 😉

Went ahead and got the photos redone. Thanks all. :)  Now I'm just gathering together the mountain of paperwork..

Is there anything to do near the Embassy? Her appointment is at 730 so she's gonna have quite a few hours before her flight back...

Timeline

Had my medical yesterday.  Day-tripped Surrey with a Swoop flight to Abbotsford ($68.01) and a rental car to get to Surrey ($32).  My "intermediate car" wound up being a fully loaded Ford Flex and that guzzled more gas than a car would have, so tack on another $20 in gas.  So all in, that's around $120, which came in at a lot less than adding more days onto the Montreal trip.

The imaging place for the chest x-ray apparently moved on December 20th but Dr. Cheema's office is still directing people to the old location (thankfully not far from the new one).  Annoying, but not a deal breaker, considering you still have to go to the first location to pee in a cup regardless.

Another box ticked.
