Thanks so much! How long did it take for P3 to arrive for you? My case arrived at the embassy on the 24th and I haven’t received anything yet:(

It took about 3 weeks to get to us in the mail. It was dated 13 days after case arrived at the consulate. Keep an eye on your status on CEAC, it seems as if it will get a random date update when they send P3.

Thanks so much I hope it arrives soon:(. Did you receive an electronic copy at all? I checked the status today and got this message. When it arrived on the 24th it said “your interview date has been provided to you” which I know is just the generic message. But I guess it’s changed to this message since then:

Nope we did not receive an electronic copy! If you didn't contact them about anything on the 31st it's likely that update means they mailed P3 on the 31st. You could try e-mailing your P3 docs in, it's seemed to be a 50/50 shot for folks who have tried to send ahead of receiving the official request. Or if you wait, it probably won't be long until something arrives in the mail to you (likely both beneficiary and petitioner), especially if you are close to Montreal. We are on the west coast, if that helps your estimate.

UGH so I just got a reply for my request to extend the I-129f expiration date and got this reply:

We encourage applicants to pursue their K-1 visa applications as soon as possible, since the validity of the I-129F petition is only 4 months.

Although consular officers have the authority to revalidate the I-129F petition for another 4 months, they are not legally required to do so for every case. These decisions are rendered on an individual case basis at the time of the interview.

Yeah, that's not stressful AT ALL. :(

Yeah :( the 15th. I was already crushed enough finding out randomly that we cant proceed with an interview for 3 months (we don't have a clear picture of when, but guessing we can book late March/early April) now I have to worry about if they might not even give us a visa anyway because we are trying to delay it :( my fiance could have been here this month but now we don't know if he will even get here this year 😢 Im just having my own pessimistic pity party. I guess it's our own fault. Rant over.

When we filed we were worried about having the same problem of needing to delay (I'm in school in Montreal until August), but the timing will end up working for our visa timeline. Sorry this is happening to you guys :( and keep us updated ❤️

Hey just so you know, the soonest available appointment date right now is 21 March. March interviews will likely be filled in the next couple weeks. There's still a small chance you could make late March but just to be aware. Movement at the consulate has been extra slow lately, check some of the recent posts/timelines.

Yeah, I see that. I'm also ok with April 3 once April dates are released which will probably be right around when I get packet 4 anyways :)

Yeah cool, that sounds like a pretty correct time estimate. And you'll likely get first pick on all April times and dates!

Yeah, that's not stressful AT ALL. :(

I just sent an email today asking to extend the validity of the I-129f. It's written that mine expires on March 3rd, and my interview is the 13th.
I think that they should be aware of how long they're taking for the process, and the expiry dates should have a larger window to reflect that. I've been doing everything the same day as I am getting word from them to do so..

Yeah it's a bit ridiculous. I can't imagine they wouldn't extend it when it's their own fault but I'm worried they won't extend ours because we are responsible for our own delay. Will you please let me know if you get that same canned ambiguous reply?

Oof, I'm so confused - I think I got "packet 4", accepting my packet 3, but now I have no idea how to schedule the interview. Is there a helpful step by step somewhere of how to proceed after packet 3?

Thanks so much!

If you got this, you got Packet 4:
