Is it possible to re schedule K1 interviews?

Hello guys, 

 

I'm currently waiting my case to be ready at NVC and sent to the Ciudad Juarez consulate in Mexico. Hopefully that will be next week.

 

The available dates at the consulate for interviews are 3-4 months from now but every month they open new dates closer to that timeframe.

 

Can I schedule an appointment for let's say April 2019 and then check the page every once in a while to see if I can catch a new appointment closer (maybe february)? I remember I did this back home in Venezuela a few years ago for a tourist visa. They had like a 6 months backlog and I catched a new date within 2 weeks.

 

But as this is an immigrant visa I'm afraid to do something wrong. FYI medical clinic takes walk-ins so no appointment will be needed. But I do need one for CAS (picture and biometrics) the day before the interview at the consulate.

Through the consulate I was dealing with in Israel... you have to forfeit your appointment date in order to reschedule. In other words, you have to be without an appointment in order to see all available appointments slots =/ so there’s a chance you may not be able to get your old date back

Do you think that's country specific? I remember when I did the rescheduling for my tourist visa it wans't that way...

Processing for different visas can be different even within the same country. My fiancé had a tourist visa before , and is awaiting approval now for a k1. The process for his tourist visa was much much easier and was handled differently than the process/interview for the k1.  I am pretty sure the scheduling and rescheduling would be country specific as well, given some are busier than others, etc.

It is not embassy specific. You must cancel to reschedule BUT you can cancel and within 30 seconds reschedule. There is no wait time to reschedule. Also, you get two cancelations before penalty phase and I heard this can be Embassy specific.

Oh I didn't know there was a penalty phase! I will not try to reschedule more than once is just a plan B IF my date is assigned after february then I would like to try this.
