Hi there,

When you arrive at the office for your N400 interview, they might to send you home because you I-751 is still pending. It happened to me when the officer thought my I-751 was still pending, however, it had already been approved. I had to show him my new green card before he agreed to go ahead with the interview. If you are lucky, the assigned officer who conducts your interview is a supervisor of the office, if not they can't conduct a combo interview. I passed my interview on March 15 and still waiting for Oath Ceremony. Best of luck! Please keep me posted.

Wow still waiting for oath since March - that's terrible. And I truly hope they do not try to send me home since the i-751 is still pending!

I am still waiting for my letter indicating the date and location of the interview. Once I find out the location, I'm going to call USCIS and also write a letter to the field office to request the joint interview. Not sure what else I can do!

Question - during the interview, can you be asked to explain the meaning of the question - for example, explain what it means to be legally incompetent or confined to a mental institution? Has this happened to anyone where officer asks meaning behind the question to test your ability. Appreciate the help.

(Original question on the application is - Have you ever been declared legally incompetent or placed in mental instituation, typical answer would be NO)

You'll get the letter on your page tomorrow, latest Tuesday then the actual letter in your mailbox, usually you get it six weeks before the event. Once you receive the letter, call USCIS, choose "I don't have receipt number option", it's a long wait about 25-35 minutes. Here you can ask them about the combo interview. In some cases, people get called a day or two before the interview if their I-751 is still pending but 98% of the time they conduct a combo interview, so do bring your spouse. Good luck!

Just answer No. I can see your post so you are competent enough to say No to this question.

Hey there! I got my interview letter. August 6 in Hartford, CT. We're super excited but a little anxious since the I-751 is still pending.

I called USCIS this morning to ask about the combo interview. The agent basically gave me no useful information. This is what she said: Since I haven't received an interview notice for the I-751 it probably won't be a combo interview. It's still possible that I would have the N-400 interview on August 6 with the I-751 still pending, but they wouldn't be able to make a final decision on the N-400 until the I-751 is adjudicated. Then she said I should be prepared for both interviews on the same day just in case.

So basically it's still a big question mark. Last April I got a notification saying that my I-751 was transferred to my local office, so at least both files are in the same office. I'm wondering if I should do a case inquiry on the I-751 via USCIS website since my case is technically outside the normal processing time for it.

Anyway, our plan is just to prep for both interviews and hope for the best!!

Hi there, Thought I would pop in to update the timeline for December Filers.

Yesterday was my Oath Ceremony at Sauder Village Archbold Ohio.  I was so tuned in to being careful what I took there.  I expected some type of security check..nope nothing.  Was a hot and muggy day. We arrived early and went straight inside.. around 9.30 am they were ready for around 50 of us, we went into a room  given instructions about how it all will work and waited to be asked to the table and sign our names on the certificate we receive big white envelope and a bag of goodies.  Then walked out of the room. We had heaps of time till 11 am ceremony so we took this opportunity to look around the Village..was some really cool things to look at.

Found our seats with pamphlets about the ceremony. Before the ceremony began we all had to get up for a group photo.  So many people in front of us taking photos I couldn't even see my hubby but he did get 2 in horrid looks on my face lol..

The Judge was from where we lived (fingers crossed I don't have to meet him again in his court lol)  The Judge got us to stand up when our Country was called out. This was to show the diversity of all the applicants waiting to say the Pledge of Allegance 🙋‍♀️ on this 243rd Birthday of America. I was sitting next to a fellow Aussie  and there was another lady on the other side in the N surname section, they had us seated in alphabetical order..  After all the speeches our names were called out and we went to receive our Naturalisation Certificates. Lots of hands to shake and was nice to be warmly greeted with smiles and congrats.. and that was that.. I went to work on the way home  showed them my certificate and my manager said ok cool when do you want to come back to work.I said after the World Cup Final. Yep she looked at me weird like...I said Football, still a strange look.. ok ...she shrugged!   I will always chant Aussie Aussie Aussie when the need arises though. 😊😊..lol.. THE END!

Wow - That is a terrible situation!  Can you reach out to them to try to get it resch'd?  It sounds like you will need to get it changed because doing that after two weeks of a c-section sounds difficult!  You may be able to ask them to change the office to Atlanta and explain why you are willing to wait.

I am glad you shared this info with us, though.  I wasn't sure if Texas might re-locate offices, since the messages aren't changed on the site yet, and based on your post, it looks like we have a good chance of getting an interview in OKC!  Please keep us updated!

Congrats on the baby!  You will soon have a bundle of joy to celebrate, and will soon be a citizen, too!  May your birth be easy and joyous!  Great and exciting things!  Headaches, but soon you won't need to worry about USCIS anymore.

So update today: I got an email this afternoon from an immigration services assistant in the Montgomery, Alabama field office kindly asking me for a better date and time to schedule my interview so that they can honour my request to change due to my upcoming due date. Nice to know USCIS has the ability to potentially work this out through an email. Just waiting for a response or another interview letter to be scheduled and uploaded to the portal.

😊😊..lol.. THE END!

Thank you for giving insight into your experience - super cool that you had your ceremony on July 4th!
