Congrats to those whose Oath has been scheduled! I am getting antsy! Mine has passed the 90 day mark and still haven't heard from them. I called earlier they said they can't do anything until the 120 day mark has come. Furthermore, my application is still within the processing time of my district.

@Natonstan We are still on here.  Did you see the article where some USC interviews might get sent to other field offices?  If that comes to Dallas and Houston, then we may get an interview faster than the end of this year/beginning of 2020!

My husband could have received his citizenship in April, but we didn’t finish our move to Tucson, so we are in line with you.

Signature coming soon...

It might be a better thing since mine still indicates "interview was scheduled" and it estimation changed from Nov 2019 to Jun 2019 but still no updates. So frustrating!

@TheCaptain How did your interview go ? Could you share your experience please ?

Hi,

Sorry it took me a few days to get back on here to give everyone a update.

My interview was scheduled for 11:00am and I arrived a little early about 10:15am. The letter mentioned not to be there more than 30 minutes before your interview but the waiting area on the 3rd floor was almost completely empty so there was definitely no issue.

Citizenship interviews take place on the 3rd floor so after passing security you follow the signs and take the escalators/elevators to the 3rd floor.

Check-in was a breeze. The receptionist takes your interview letter and asks you if you had any legal representation. The interview letter is stamped with your arrival time and you are given a number. There are two doors on the 3rd floor. The receptionist will indicate on your ticket which door to sit and wait to be called.

I was called by the officer pretty much at exactly 11:00am and we walked through door 2 down a hallway and to his office.

After the initial identification questions asking if I was changing my name the IO validated my passport and green card.

The IO then discussed information relating to my wife. Questions included how long we had been married and if either my wife or myself were previously married. (Since I was applying under the 3 year rule).

After that we got straight into the Civics Test.

My questions were:-

1) How many justices on the Supreme Court?

2) What are the first three words in the Declaration of Independence?

3) We elect a president for how many years?

4) What age do you need to be to vote?

5) Who was the first President?

6) Name one of the writers of the Federalist Papers?

As I answered the first 6 questions correctly they stop the test and continue on with the rest of the interview.

The IO then discussed the last time I had traveled outside of the US, what countries were visited and for how long etc.

The IO then asked a number of Yes/No questions regarding alliances with foreign governments, military service, etc (All of these questions were asked in your initial N400 application)

Once this is complete the IO moved into the reading/writing portion of the interview. This part was completed using an iPad.

The IO ask me to read a sentence that was displayed on the iPad. My question was "What is the capital of the United States"

The IO then asked me to answer the question. The IO verbally stated the answer and then asked me to write on the iPad. "Washington DC is the Capital"

The IO then displayed a document that related to the oath of allegiance. The IO will ask you to read through a text version of the oath and get you to sign to verify that you understand and accept the oath.

Lastly the IO will display on the iPad your full name as you want it to appear on your Citizenship Certificate. After ensuring that all the information is correct you are asked to again sign to confirm the information is correct and you understand.

That was the last step for me. The IO informed me that he was recommending my application for approval and I was given a sheet of paper with the IO's name and that he was recommending my application for approval.

Hope this information helped!
