Hey,

How is your situation? Did you have any update on your I-751 yet?
I saw that you had your N-400 approved but not your I-751 yet, since it wasn't in the local office.
Just asking because I want to know what to expect if the same situation happen to me.

Thanks

Hey

1 week after my interview I received a letter which says my I-751 has been Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction. I assume it means they sent it to my N-400 officer so he can review and make a decision. Also there is no update on my N-400 application. it still says "Interview Was Scheduled" so I think he cannot approve my N-400 until he finalize my I-751. Good luck with you. Hopefully your office has your I-751 already. let me know how it goes.

I never attached my I-751 notice to my N-400 application and that might have caused the issue. did you attach yours to the N-400 application? that's the only way the officer would know that he/she has to request our I-751 application to be transferred to them.

Update on my oath / passport situation.

After getting in in contact with the US embassy in my home country and USCIS they confirmed that I could NOT leave the US after the oath ceremony with my Portuguese passport and have the American passport done at the embassy overseas. The service is available but not in this situation. It is considered a crime to do so.

Went to USCIS in person and they rescheduled the oath ceremony after asking for proof of my flight. It is now happening in 3 days and not on the day of my flight.

They were awesome and very understanding of my family emergency trip.

Best of luck to everyone else still in the process!

Thank you for your kind words!

I read somewhere that when rescheduling the ceremony, it’s a good idea to do so in person instead of just returning the request by mail.

Hope the information helps anyone who was/is in my situation.

Sounds OK as far as it goes.

But what about the USA Passport before you leave?

That is the issue with respect to getting back into USA.

I’ll have about 2.5 weeks until my trip. Some Passport agencies have same day passport, 2-3 business days, 3-5 and so on, as long as the trip is within the following 14 days.

Those estimates are not reliable.  You can check the USCIS case processing times and see if you are within range to apply for a case inquiry.  I see you are in Tucson, AZ, your case should get an interview rather fast.  My husband and I were considering moving over there with my mom, so I changed his address in February 27th and by March 5th he had an interview scheduled for April 24th.  Tucson is remarkably fast!  She had mentioned that the oath ceremony would have been in June.

However, we never completed our move, so we are damned to the eternally long Dallas office.  The good thing is that we did get his ROC approved during the interview (with the card issued a month later).  Don't worry, you will be done soon.

Hey thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate you letting me about your case. I applied on Dec 6, 2018, got interviewed and passed it on March 15 still waiting for Oath. There is one more Oath in June which is on the 21st! Yet I have not got an Oath letter yet. I called USCIS yesterday and a nice lady told me that they can't do anything until June 15 which mark 90 days after the interview then July 15th I can take them to court, hopefully, I don't have to go that far.
