Hey guys

Im just compiling all the paper work for AOS and was wondering if I should include the I-131 (and the $70 for it). My wife and I want to go back to the UK for New Year for a few weeks. Should I apply for AP now, or leave it for a few months and hope I have my greencard by then?

I don't want to waste the $70 on AP if I don't need too, but somehow think it's kind of hopeful that I'll have greencard in hand in less than 7 months!

What do you guys think?

Pretty sure it's $170... completely up to you... it can take 90 days to get that... could take 2 years to get your greencard. You don't have to file at the same time, just makes things smoother from my point of view.

It is $170 to file for that, I would hold on filing for AP for now and see how the AOS goes, then apply for AP 4 months or so before anticipated trip.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

I was going to suggest that to... but even if you know you have your interview it doesn't mean that you will get your GC with the whole Name Check thing... but if the interview happens before the 4 months then I suppose you will know whether or not you have cleared and should apply for AP
