Waiting for an interview for cr1 visa

Timeline

Hi guys 

My case has been  documentarily qualified from NVC since al most 1 month  and til now NVC hasn't send any email to us about the  interview date 

will this take long time ? we are wondering whether  we have to call NVC or it's ok we keep waiting ?

Did you receive the email from NVC telling you that you are in the queue waiting for an interview?   If so, there really isn't anything you can do right now.  Most interviews are set within 3 months (per my email).  The consulate has to inform NVC of available interview dates/times before NVC sets them....

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

NVC sent us that they will work with the embassade to schedule an interview appointement

i know so many people who got their interview date within 2 weeks from getting their documents approved

It depends so much from the country and the embassy. Have you had a look what is timeline for other applicants fro Tunisia?

yes Elrona I had a friend wich has the same priority date like me ,,  NVC sent her an interview appointement just after 2 weeks from having case qualified and she has already been to the interview in Octobre

when  you check your status in CEAC  website and find it ready you call embassy by your self an have interview , thats how it works for Tunisia , i had my interview for k1 visa like that in us embassy in Tunis ( les berges du lac )

April 22, 2011: Mailed I-130 to Chicago
April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)
April 29, 2011: Updated
May 3, 2011: Received NOA1 hardcopy in mail
July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Alicia it's always showing that the case is currently in NVC .. is it possible that NVC has'nt sent the case yet to the embassy ?

yes of course , if it says At NVC  it mean its still there , and ten it will change to in Transit when they send it , and then it will change to Ready after it gets here in Tunisia and ready for interview when u get that u call and ask for an interview date from us embassy in Tunis

Oh realy thanks Alicia so I may call them and ask them to sen the case to the embassy ?

we called them today and they said that there is a lot of cases all what we have to do  is to wait 

it"s starting to getting so long now , realy frustrating :(  if they send the case to the embassy it won't take this long time , Idk why they still keeping the case in their departement

I got that letter in November 2017 then in January 2018 I got my interview letter so it's about three month waiting and my interview was in February 2018 and in 15 March 2018 I joined my husband in America finally so u have to be patient little more I know it's so frustrating waiting and the nvc always know nothing when u call them just saying wait more. I wish u all the best
