I understood that USCIS did not give information over the phone about the Vawa cases (I-485-through Vawa), I thank you please clarify if I am wrong.

Has anyone in this forum received your EAD after the maximum processing time (5 months) has expired?

Thank you all for your comments!

Yes USCIS will not give any information over the phone regarding a VAWA case. And I file in September of 2018 for my EAD still pending. Thank good I got in touch with my congressman and he told me that the USCIS has extended my expired EAD with 5 months so this way there will be no gaps. Unfortunately my lawyer didn’t know that( how is that possible ) so my advice is get in touch with your congressman they are there to help you and mine congressman was awesome he leaped me s lot if I could vote he will have my vote.

Correct! USCIS doesn't give you information about VAWA case, you or your lawyer must write a letter to Vermont Service Center regarding your application in request or make an InfoPass to ask personally but it has to be at Vermont. My lawyer did because had a few cases together for questions.

I don't know anything about this subject.

Thank you all for your comments!

please everyone i’m about losing my my mind😭😭😭my first EAD is past five months already and my second one is past three months and still nothing yet😪😪am i the only one in this situation??please some help me i can barely feed or take care of my basic need!

@Kleenex12 Hi. I'm really sorry about your situation. It is so sad that with this new administration, timelines have been pushed back many months. The good news though is that for the EAD C09 category, they're currently working on the applications they received in September 2018, so expect to receive your EAD very soon by God's grace. At noon today they were working on September 2, 2018 files, then later today it is showing September 3, 2018, so if your I-765 C09 was received in October, hopefully you may receive it by February, so you're almost there. Please hang in there, I know it's easier said than done as everything in this country costs money, food, bills, clothing, shelter, it is not easy by any means, but hopefully you'll be one of the first people to receive their EAD this coming month of February, fingers crossed 🤞. Sending prayers.

Can someone please tell me how to contact my congressman regarding my case? I live in Florida.

Also, I have a lawyer but is it ok to do this on my own?

Hello,

I wonder what are the risks of contacting the congressman in the case of JonShai who lives in Florida and is not a Sanctuary city. Recall that Vawa applicants do not have defined migratory status and some have been denied some other migratory benefit (I-485 through the ex-partner).

I appreciate your comments ...

Hi sandranj,

1. Do you know why there are several cases of people who have more than the maximum time established by USCIS (5 months) and have not yet received        their EAD?

2. What could be done to remedy this situation?

3. What are the risks when contacting the congressman to try to accelerate the EAD?

Thank you for your cooperation on this matter!

The one on 11/29/2018 my lawyer did, the second one by myself over the phone. I called on 12/13/2018 I left a message, USCIS Officer calles me on 12/17/2018 answering my request and to give me the appointment. You must have paper and pen in hand because they give you a serial number that identifies your request.

Was that an appointment for the Vermont service center and which phone number did you call? Does anyone knows how I can make an infopass appointment for the Vermont service center?

Take in consideration that waiting time is so mi h longer now, 8-14 months up to 33 months some Centers to all done from start to finish, some of us wait up to (like me) 17 months to get Vawa and EAD approvals, the transfer goes silent so if in 8 months you don’t hear anything make

an InfoPass, it must be done by yiir

lawyer in my experience works best!

Patience 🙌🏼 It will come when you less expected 🇺🇸💫😍

Vermont Center only accepts writing requests NOT calls but you can

make InfoPass regarding your case, it is best for your lawyer to do it! Mine went to VSC with several applications to

ask about different cases, it worked!!!

The number is the one on your application BUT if you do it online is much easier and faster IF field office doesn’t have available appointments they give you a phone to call to make appointment , you leave a message USCIS Officer will call you back within 48 hours. I hope this helps 🙌🏼

Hi everyone.. Have all you guys a blessed day.

I apply for VAWA EAD AOS back in september 2018. No answer yet only biometrics.. I have been working by cash a year already, and I declared that on my forms to USCIS.

My question is can I apply for ITIN for taxes ? First my boss ask me about it and second I dont know if I dont do taxes I will not prove good moral of character in front USCIS.. Thanks!

Congratulations and best of luck on your interview I am also in NYC and was approved The first week of September 2018 your post gave me hope my time is coming hopefully soon

Congrats and God bless! I am also in NYC and was approved in October 2018, so this is also giving me hope that things are moving. Question @Shallovercome32 and @MAYgirl: did you guys have a 485 filed with spouse pending at the local office from before your VAWA or did you file after?
