I have a question open for ideas and suggestions:

My case response from my congresswoman was that my case was awaiting background check. So in this case if I get an FBI background check done and mail to Vermont will that decrease my waiting time?

I filed Feb 2017

Any response will be highly appreciated.

God bless us all

This is what I used as a guide to gather documents.  Some statements maybe outdated, but you learn and understand the basics.

Thanks for sharing this, it is really explanatory.

Hi there, unfortunately they might not use whatever you mail them, they might be working on those that came first. So the only way is to wait... I pray something happens on your case 🙏🙏🙏

Uscis is the one who handles the background check, not you.It won’t make any difference If you want to get a police clearance .

Hey there aquila👋😊 I know the wait is excruciatingly painful!..infact so terrible that we start to get creative with imaginations! LOL! But the truth is I don't think any of us can help USCIS do their job. Refresh my memory..you sent in your RFE..and since then no word?

😊😊😊😊 Yes that's correct I was thinking if that could've helped, I sent the rfe and it was received on April 05,17. Nothing heard since, thanks for your response.

Thanks Sandra for your response.

@aquila You are currently outside of normal processing times. Have you or your attorney tried sending them a written letter saying this and explain any financial problems or problems overall you are currently enduring because of this?

This is unless you don’t have an EAD card rn.

My experience with "NAME WAS UPDATED" notification is the following:

I am glad they're working on my case finally. I hope this RFE is something easy.

I do not live in Baltimore, but here is a link to help you find immigration doctors. You can read reviews and narrow it down to best suit your needs.

I'm happy they are working on yours as well..I experienced same after an exasperating wait! I could have had two kids the whole time😂😂LOL. Anyways what's your timeline or receipt date? Let us know what they are requesting when you know. I sent in mines last week.

  • My receipt date Sept. 23 2017.
  • 3 weeks later I received prima facie and have been receiving the automatic renewals.
  • March 2018 case went completely silent.
  • 01/24/2019 Case updated to "Name has been updated"
  • 01/28/2019 RFE has been mailed to you.

What was your RFE?  I believe they will request me a moral of character as I did not send one when I filed... the attorney didn't file it right and it is making me super nervous.

No need to beat yourself up. They obviously are working on your case. I learnt more here than from my attorney..a great forum for ideas, hope and strength! My RFE was for good moral character and good faith marriage. Had to request that from my home country. You should be fine once you supply their request..keep us posted!😊
