Quick one! Children living abroad that are listed and are derivative can be applied for after vawa approval or after GC approval? Clarification is needed please. Can Sandra assist with this question. Thanks.

Yes they can get the green card as a derivative .You have two options, you can submit form l824 along with your AOS or after your green card approval, that is it.

Great to hear from you once more, am happy for you atleast you finally met your family,

Just a quick question have you filled for your kids? How does it go? Do I have to be a citizen first or I can do it immediately after I get my GC? And how long does it take? What's the process,  am waiting for an interview and I have a kid back home whom I would like to start her process too after my approval of GC.

You can apply for your child when your green card is approved submitting form l824,you had the option to submit along with your AOS as well but it seems you filed already your AOS.It will take one year for NBC to process the form l824 and your child have an interview back home.

Hi @sandranj for those in removal proceedings how do we know if we are in the batch that got their proceedings canceled or push back ? I’m unable to get through to the 1800 number. My court day is the first week of February

You should call the Court when the hearing is scheduled, just a few Courts are open, and you will hear a recorded message saying the court is closed and that they will reschedule the Court hearing for non detainees.

Congratulations! I never got a notification or mail that my previous I485 was transferred to another office. Is it normal?

They are messy, sometimes they send and sometimes they don’t, then don’t worry about it.

Got it!

I applied on VSC but now my I485 is

St Albans,Vermont but not sure where should I check my field office... where I live (Chicago) or St Albans? So you know by chance?! I will appreciated.

Vermont adjudicates VAWA cases but your local office is located where you live ok.

Hey everyone. I have a speech disorder and I wanted to ask a question

Can the person who is the preparer on my forms call on my behave and speak with USCIS if I authorize him. I'm going to have him request EAD expedited and have to speak with TIER 2

Uscis will not give you any information over the phone.Vawa cases are protect by privacy law.

They can give information regarding your AOS if you filed before your VAWA case, but sometimes they realized you have a Vawa case and then they don’t give information regarding the AOS either. In case you want to inquire about your l485 your friend can call USCIS but they will ask you if this person is inquiring on your behalf, you must be present when your friend call them.

Ok thank you. I did and my hearing is still going to be in February. Hopefully I don’t get deported and I can get vawa cancellation of removal

Folks USCIS approved yesterday two cases that I filed in May 2018 and another one inJune 2018, but I still have many 2017 cases pending   without adjudication.

Please when you hire an attorney read the forms that the attorney will file  before signing , if the attorney typed the affidavit for you after listening your story then you must read the affidavit before signing,if something  is not right do not sign and ask the attorney to fix it.

Yesterday one terrible attorney refunded  65% of the fees,of one  visa journey member, that he paid to his attorney. I wrote a letter  pointing all mistakes by the attorney and the person signed and mailed to the him. In December another attorney refunded 100% of the fees after I saw the  mistakes done by him as well.

The attorneys don’t have to refund the fees paid if they did everything correct and Uscis denied ,but when there are terrible mistakes by the attorney you should ask your money back .

You must describe the courtship in details. Do not write the affidavits for your friends to sign, they should write down what they know about the relationship and abuse,if they know about the abuse, ask them to notariZe the affidavits .

oh wow, Mine is May 2017 and I still have not heard anything. Seem that this will never be over :(

So sad! but its really good for those who yet don't even have a year waiting
