1.  is it safe to travel within the US (fly) with an approved VAWA but pending AOS?

2.  if anyone asks for my status, what would that be?

1.  Sure.  As every traveler has to do, be sure that your photo ID and your ticket name match.

2.  "Applicant for adjustment" or simply "adjustment applicant."

TSA will not ask you this.  If CBP is hanging out at the TSA area, they might.

If it makes you feel better, carry copies of your VAWA approval and AOS letters.

No need to show them to anyone unless CBP specifically asks or challenges you.

you must have the Advance Parole or Travel Permit in order once this is done you can travel with it.

This is for international travel.  The question was about domestic travel. :)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I apologize for missed understanding, it never crossed my mind 🙃

I jus assumed it was international, to travel

within the Country you just need your DL or your Passport as proof of identification, it has been like that for a long time so far nothing has change.

I suggested him to post here ,I didn’t accept his case because I don’t handle cases involving removal  peoceedings, and he needs an attorney specialized in removal cases  and Vawa. He is not in removal yet but he will be soon, his case is not like a normal Vawa case.

Everybody asked him to say what happened about is denial but he isn’t covering it ...he is hiding information i don’t like seeing people like this on the forum...they won’t  tell you what really happened and will make people to be thinking otherwise ..please if you know you are not ready to share why you were denied other than saying you provided what your lawyer told you to provide pls I think this site is not for you ..we don’t hide information here ...go to another site that they hide information...you people will come for help you will still be hoarding your stories then why did you bring it up in the first place

I personally don’t think @Psquare comments mean any harm. Lots of people were denied and later approved when they go all out. Though individual story is different but most abusers behave same way. If you open up, someone here might have similar story and tell you how she/he did it to get approved. u ve been denied, do everything possible to get it right. Best of luck

You are wrong, I know how to read and I can understand wording by wording in your writing, I never mentioned in anyway that you discouraged the person, but I pointed out the use of your words, and I tried to assume that the person might be working behind the scene, I will take you back to what Sandra just mentioned that she already advised the person in question, with her her sandraj ter it means something is happening, and thus it will be upon the person if they want to share the documents he submitted here or not, rem this is internet and how sensitive our cases are. So I hope you understand my point of view and it can put to rest this matter

Anyway that's my observation and am really open to correction, after what I went through I always am considerate with any word I pass to anyone, after 2 yrs of therapy I have learned to be polite to anyone hurting. Denial is not an easy thing, only that can break every bone of you flesh, adding salt to the injury having to face removal proceedings, I pray for comfort to anyone hurting and all who are waiting for their responses

@Ziongirl, thank you, I agree with you. Everyone is entitled to their privacy, if someone doesn't want to share their stories, it's completely fine. I don't see why anyone should take offense or attack someone over it. Why lose sleep over something so trivial? Why is it so important to know someone else's story or just being nosy? Please we need to respect each other's privacy on here, we are all adults. The person asked for suggestions for attorneys, and they got their answer, others should mind theirr business and wish them well.

Well done Ziongirl, thank you 🙂

You just misconstrued me ...why would I use harsh words on the person when am also in need of help..what I was just saying that he ought to be open that’s all ...he kept saying he submitted what the lawyer told him to submit but he didn’t say it when they asked him...Sandra even want the person to explain in details her/his case
