Hi everyone, I am new in this forum. I am on the process of submitting my package. I'm doing it myself cos I don't have money for a lawyer. The i-360 form is complex and I don't know how to fill it. I need help, pls.

It is not so complex, the form is used for many purposes, simply fill out the part related to vawa and skip every other part.

I am a August 2017 filer. I finally got an update this morning from USCIS that they sent an RFE. I think I know what it’s for. I lived in Mexico for a short period of time at the end of 2014 which is within the 3 year period prior to filing for VAWA. I didn’t get police clearance for that since my attorney didn’t request it for filing. I’ve asked my family to get the police clearance letter from the town I stayed in but they are hesitant since they don’t think the police will give them anything. Also do I have to submit original? Or can they scan a copy. Has anyone had similar experience and what did you do?

Hi,

Can someone suggest me what to do. Nov 28th I received a response from my Senator's office that my file is in background check. December 20th I made infopass appointment and I was told they would not tell me any information about my file because it's vawa and Vermont does not share the information with anyone. I don't know what should I do. Can someone suggest me what should I do. Should I send another request through senator's office? Or should I wait.

Do not inquire again ,you know they are doing background check. The background check can take 2/10months, I see people often waiting even 1 year, then wait at least 3 more months to inquire again.

What do they ask for in Mexico? Would the police station require me personally to be there to request document. I submitted police clearance from the US. And how do I get the original here from Mexico?

I'm very confused and not happy now. my i360 was approved dec, 21 2017 since then I have not heard anything. I had i130 which was pending since 2016. sometimes last year, I went to info pass and was told that the supervisor is with the file for adjudication. till this moment no online updates or anything.  I wrote to my congressman last week, still waiting to hear from him. Any advice will be appreciated.

Did you mean "Approved in Dec 2017 or Dec 2018"? (checking to see if it wasn't a typo).  Things tend to go a lot quicker after approval so this out of the ordinary.

Hi there, I have a question. I finished my undergraduate career on Dec. 2016. I am still in the process of vawa. Can someone tell me that whether I can go to graduate school with the i360 pending? I’m the Jan. 2018 petitioner. I can pay the tuition fee without financial aid. Do I have qualified to apply graduate school? Thanks for all replies!

Inquire with the University that you plan to study if they will accept you or not. Vawa has anything to do with graduate or non graduate University.

If you are here less than 3 years then you need to get a police clearance from your home Country.Contact the State Police in  Mexico to find out what they required to issue the police clearance.

Hey, Happy new Year all

Please @sandranj, or anyone that can answer.

I recently got RFE, i want to know if its neccessary to go for another psychological evaluation. or is it now too late considering that the abuse happened over a year ago. someone suggested i go for another evaluation to make my case have more weight. So going for another psychology evaluation will it help. my previous therapist didnt really provide more detail.

Thanks

Did you get an RFE to prove abuse?

Wow, they are asking a REF after such a long time??? from what I have read here most of the time the REF is required with in like 6 months or so after applying for vawa. I myself is a April 2017 filer. Lets see what happens.

Yes I have heard nothing up until now. I can only hope it’s something simple and easy to obtain.
