Hello everyone 👋

After 2 years and 24 days today, I got a text message and email about my I360.

Application Type: I360, PETITION FOR AMERASIAN, WIDOW(ER), OR SPECIAL IMMIGRANT

Your Case Status: Initial Review

On March 18, 2019, we received your correspondence for Form I360, PETITION FOR AMERASIAN, WIDOW(ER), OR SPECIAL IMMIGRANT, Receipt Number EAC********. We are reviewing your correspondence, and will mail you a notice if we need something from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Please does anyone have any idea on what's going to happen next or how long before anything happens again before I get my hopes high.

Thanks.

Hi everyone. I already filed for my VAWA in December 2017 and waiting for the approval. I will like to know if I can file vawa for my son now.  Is it advisable?

Did your spouse abuse your son?  if yes your son  can file form I-360.If he wasn't abused then do not file form I-360,  b if he is underage then he will be your derivative when your case will be approved.

affidavits from friends and family about the abuse, and about bonafide marriage have to be notarized? how about the psychological  evaluation, should it be notarized?

Affidavits from family and friends must be notarized, they have to put date and place of birth, phone number and current address and they have to sworn as well. The psychologist doesn't have to notarize the evaluation.

Do you know if I can apply the new I-765 under c9? My weird lawyers applied it under C31. I’ve been waiting a year already and how long would I wait till I-360 approved nobody knows. Extremely frustrated with lawyers incompetence:((((

If you have a pending I-485 yes you can file form I-765 category C 9

My lawyers are strictly against linking congressman saying it will negatively affect the case and the case can be dropped or reviewed even later.

It feels like I'm stuck. Do you have any true information regarding this? If they are right or they just don't know for sure and want to get rid of me.

As I understand if there would be problems or any additional papers needed they would had request them?

But this is just a long wait nothing else.

What a dumb attorney you have, just saying. It does not affect whatsoeveryour case if the person contacts the congressperson.

They are my huge headache. I’m so stressed. I want to make them fix their error with C31 by submitting a new form, then at least I’ll get it 3-6 months because nobody knows when my Vawa will start moving. Just am scared. Lawyers are people who love to turn stuff against you to cover their mistakes. I need to be calm. I’m just thinking of all time wasted. When they were bull**ing me about shutdown, trump reforms and such reasons for my I-765 to be delayed. Can I protect myself at all from such lawyers?

I am so sorry you are going through this added headache!. (hugs) As you know not all lawyers are equal, some have more experience with VAWA then others. You have the right to fire the attny and hire a new one or fire them and do it yourself. Be wary of sending your own form- many attnys will drop you as a client if you do such.

By the way at this point how can I change my lawyers? If they applied my case and their address stands on all documents. All correspondence comes to their office. Not sure how technically it can be.

But at least what I decided to do is I found another lawyer and agreed she will take my case for check. If such a mistake was already made who knows what else they could file wrong. I was told till the case is started to process we can send additional documents.

however being as stressed as we are on Vawa cases it’s so terrible to meet lawyers who don’t really care about you.
