Hello everybody, I just want to thank everyone who answered my question @sandranj. Few weeks ago I sent EAD renewal but was rejected coz I didn’t send a check. Well, I sent it back and explained to them I paid full amount when I applied, so according to uscis website, I don’t need to pay again. Am happy to say it was accepted and I got 180 days extension. Thank you guys 🙏

It dosent start from scratch.... we have a case like that here on the trend.. go ask the person, when his case was reopened its did take 3months before the i360 was approved .... my lawyer also told me abt this.... it's an appeal to reopencase and correct ur errors and continue...

The case you are mentioning here  the person filed a  motion to reopen. It does not exist appeal to reopen, and I explained in my previous answer if there is a mistake made by the officer then the  person can file an appeal, but  if a new fact comes up the person can file a motion. I answered part of the  question where the person asked if he/she needs to REFILE a new VAWA the case starts from scratch, and I said YES, it does start from scratch. What you are mentioning is about a  motion and has anything to do with I answered before .Believe I am an attorney for 33 years, doing VAWA over 17 years and I know what I am talking about it.

Just a quick question/explanation needed it from anybody that my gut know:

I360 approved 10/29/2018

I got EAD on 11/6/2018

I765 approved 2/22/2019 confising

I am waiting for I485 to get process

my field office is Chicago (13-33 months)

How long average to get my medical and interview?

Why another EAD?

How long before it expires should I request another EADextension if I don’t get my I485 adjudicated?

I will appreciate the advise, thank you much in advanced.

I’m not sure about the medical and interview Notice but I know the 2nd EAD will be category C14 which has the deferred action status to it. Based on what I read you can apply for new EAD up to 180 days before current EAD expires. Most EAD automatically has a 180 days extension.

Guys be patient, only USCIS knows when they will process our I485. Believe me if anyone here knew when their I485 would be process, things would be much easier for all.  Everything is a process and unfortunely the process is taking longer for a lot of people.  My Vawa was approved on August 09, 2018. I got the medical letter on December. I can choose to be worrying about it, but I won’t because stressing will not make better or speed the process. Keep yourself busy and practice some self-care. 🙏

The second EAD can be category C9, C 31 or C14. In most cases, people get deferred action when their I360 get approved. If you got your C9 which is your EAD before approval, after approval you can renew your EAD under category C9 or C31. The category don’t really matter.  At the end the most important thing is to get the I485 approved and done.

Hi everyone

My new EAD got approved on 2/19

I received NOA I-797 letters in mail 2/22

But it’s been 8 days so far and I still didn’t get the actual card in the mail.

Even when I check my case online, it doesn’t say “card is produced” or “card is mailed”, it just says that they approved my request.

can anyone explain this please?

thank you

When my I-360 was approved I got EAD C31 and 2 months after I received EAD C14. And I’m not arguing or anything but the category of EAD’s whether C31, C09 or C14 does matter.

Good for you. You case is extraordinary. First time I hear someone  getting C14 right after C31.  Will you in removal proceedings because as far as I know the two categories under Vawa are C9 and C31. The deferred action came with the I360 approval, but that’s  great!

C09 EAD is while your I485 is pending. C31 EAD is given when the I360 gets approved. I just don’t want people to be confused by your post about C14.

it’s  the first time I heard someone recommending  other people to renew their EAD under c14 in order to get deferred action. @sandranj

I didn’t recommend anyone to renew EAD under C14. Don’t get it twisted. @FridayGirl@69 Asked why the 2nd EAD and I told her it will most likely be EAD C14 “as I had received 1 right after my EAD C31”,  cuz she already received EAD C31 when her I-360 was approved in October 2018.
