We had our interview yesterday at the field office in Lawrence, MA.  I am the USC and my husband is the petitioner.

We were called from the waiting room and when we arrived at the front he had us introduce ourselves and he said he only wanted to talk to me and had my husband wait in the waiting room. We went to the office and I sat across the desk while he thumbed through the file and was on the computer for a little over 5 minutes.

They had lost some paperwork along the way (like the marriage certificate! so it was great I brought the original and another copy for them).  I also had a new copy of my passport and license with my new last name.

Then he just said, "ok so what do you have for me that shows your have a joint life?" I gave him a copy of our lease, car insurance, checking account, and joint tax return.  I also gave evidence my husband is the beneficiary of my retirement account.  I gave him receipts and boarding passes from 3 trips. I asked if he wanted to see pictures, he said no.  I asked if he wanted to see our wedding celebration (the party this summer) invitation, he said no.

He asked me very few questions.  We spent about 1 minute on "how did you meet/decide to get married."  He was short but always pleasant.

He then went and retrieved my husband.  When he came in, his whole mood changed and he was not acting the same as with me.  He was very abrupt with him and not really nice.  He went over the whole i485 question by question (even whats your name, how do you spell it, what are your parents names, previous addresses, and all the 80 yes/no questions, the whole application.  even "is this your signature?" at the end ).  After that he said "ok I will review this during the week and make a decision."  And that was it.

We left feeling strange but we did the best we could do.

Anyway, one day later our status changed to "new card is being produced" so THAT IS AMAZING! And we are very thankful.  The interview process was definitely a little unnerving for us.

Take care everyone and good luck on your journeys. I will see you again in a ROC thread in the future :)

Kind of think that's weird that he expected the USC to produce the evidence. It wasnt your application and should have been applied for and organized by the Intending Immigrant.

My wife (applicant) got her notice of interview today, 30 days out. Case had updated to "Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview" on March 20, no updates since then interview notice just showed up. Application filing date December 21. Still nothing on EAD or AP at 174 days.

What office?

Am I the only one who’s case status is still on “fingerprints fee have received” since December 19th and nothing about EAD

No! I am on the same boat. Filed on Dec 21st, 2018. Fingerprints appointment was on Jan 15, 2019 and nothing yet after. In the USCIS website only say fingerprints were taken or your request was received! Where are you located? My field office is St. Louis, MO.

Hi everyone

I’ve been logging in and checking this forum once a week (keeping closer eye on November thread) and was hoping to hear something about my combo card in July/Aug.

Just got an email saying “Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview”. Super surprised but happy to see it. We’re in New York so I figured it the GC application would be another 6 months at the earliest. Appreciate it can take time to actually get the date/who knows when it will be set for but wanted to post this update anyway!

FYI our receipt date was 20 December 2018.

Good of luck to everyone (and to us haha I’m pretty nervous about it all. Crazy to think after the lengthy K1 wait, we finally have movement/signs of life).

My field office timeline is 11.5-34 months. But i got status “ready to be scheduled..” in almost 6 months 12 days later is changed to “ Interview is scheduled”. So in my case there is nothing to do with this long timeline and i dont think its accurate:)

I filed December 13th, I have a sick family member back in canada who is only getting more ill...is it too late for me to ask for an expedited AP? If not, what is the process for that like? This waiting game is killing me, and i’d hate to not be home should my grandfather not make it.

Sorry to hear/read that.

https://www.uscis.gov/forms/how-make-expedite-request

You have to call and USCIS will get the request going for you, it will take up to 5 days until they ask for either more proof or they approve you right away or deny it right away. The agent is just entering your data into their system and placing this request for you at what ever location your paperwork is sitting at.

I filed same day as you did and placed an expedite request last week and it is under review right now.

Medical conditions have the highest chance of approval but still fairly low of actually getting approved. -> Don't quote me on this, that's information I got from VJ and the different forums.

There is also this...

Hope it's going to direct you in the right direction

Thank you so much, I’ll look into this on Monday. Worst case scenario, I just want to at least be able to say I tried everything I could, you know? Gah. 😞
