INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE

hi guys so as you all know I had my interview on Tuesday may 21, at the Queens office in Manhattan. Got there at 9:35 our appointment was at 10:30. We went thro security. We waited about an hour then get called in. A gentleman conduct the interview. Most of the questions were directed to my husband. It was intense and most of them repetitive. I’m so proud of my hubby as he knew all the answers and even dates that I thought he would have forgotten. My interview lasted about 30-45 mins.

Prove we have together

Joint lease

bank statement

phone bills

joint Tax

joint credit card

(he kept them all)

some of the questions he ask my husband. (US citizen)

Whats your wife madden name

SPELL your wife middle name

whats your wife phone number

how did you meet your wife

How long before you propose

Do you have wood floor or carpet

what kind of furniture

stainless steal fridge?

Describe your countertop

spell your step daughter’s name

where was your wife born

What’s your landlord name

id i call the landlord now would be say you guys live together?

my question (Applicant)

where was your previous address

my date of birth and how old I am.

Thats it for me. But a lot for my husband

overall i honestly think we did well. And we asked him how we did and he said we did good but give us the famous receipt saying held for review. He did say though that we should expect a mail in a week.

I’m not going to give you the advice that if your marriage is legit then you will be fine because even if it is they will still ask you questions. It’s up to the immigration officer and the mood he’s in. Our marriage is 💯 real.

just pray and keep getting to know each other. Breathe and don’t stress yourself

I will post again as soon as I hear the outcome. Let’s hope it’s not another long wait.

This has me kind of worried as we don't have any evidence like this since my husband still doesn't have an SSN.  EAD has still not come through (and the processing dates just jumped from late Oct BACKWARDS to Sept 18!!!) Because of that we have been unable to get a joint bank account, all bills are in my name and he bought the house with inheritance and it is only in his name.  I think the only thing we have with both our names is the insurance bill. The only other evidence I am thinking might be useful is that we attended a marriage course for which we will get a certificate and we have friends that will vouch for our relationship. Online it says they have scheduled an interview for us but will have to wait to receive to letter to know when it is.

1.  He could generate a quit claim deed to add you as a property owner for the home.

2.  You both can generate legal documentation such as a health care proxy statement, will, or trust.

3.  You could apply for a joint credit card or store credit.

4.  You can add both your names to an Amazon delivery address (shows both names to a common address).

Get creative!!!!

I’m not sure if there’s a Bank of America location in your area but I know that they open joint account without SS. Also you can sign up for Costco membership, Amazon prime, maybe add your name to a bill of some sort.

Yes he was able to open a bank account with BOA.  We may just add my name on for now to add to proof.  I tried applying for a joint account with USAA as they are supposed to be helpful in these situations as well. They asked for a W8 which we sent then waited months and after enquiring they asked for it again like they had never received it so they were not helpful.  At that point we were close to closing on the house and he really needed somewhere to transfer money so we went to BOA (even though I overall don't like them because they are fee happy imo but the staff at the branch were very helpful.)

So i got an RFE today, for our joint sponsor. In the letter it only highlights that we need to "submit evidence of the joint sponsors status as a United States Citizen"

however it does still have all the list all the other pieces of evidence needed to accept it, just the one i have typed is highlighted in a highlighter pen.

Im wondering if anyone knows if this means we only need to send the evidence of citizenship or if we actually need to resend it all?

thanks

Does anyone know how I should fill this out for my international flight? When I select Canadian passport and enter a US address it asks for green card or visa info.

I have EAD/AP combo card (which I’ve used once before already) but my gc interview isn’t until after I get back from this trip.

Thanks for any help!

Had my interview almost a month ago, they seem to have lost my medical docs so I got told you’ve got a green card pending the medical docs. They said they will try find my docs and then let me know. Still haven’t heard anything back.

Not sure what to do, should I call or just wait it out?

Interview experience

We had our interview today. We were interviewed 1,5 late.

Means Questions:

1. Name (since I have 4 names, the officer have asked twice my name to my husband. He was used to say first and last name. However, the officer say: “ are you that it’s his name?”

2. Date of birth

3. City of birth

4. Where does the parents live?

5. Have we meet each other parents?

6. Where have we traveled together?

7. What do we do to live?

(Those question were asked to me about him and Vice-verse).

8. “Yes” and “no” questions.

The interview was smooth. And at the end, the officer explained about the “2 years green card” and when should we filed for the “10 years green card”. He didn’t say that “we were approved”, however he said that “green card will arrived within 30 days”z

 Time line:

case received on December 21, 2018.

biometric done on January 17, 2019.

“Case is ready to be scheduled interview” on April 17, 2019

Interview was scheduled” on April 23, 2019.

Interview on May 30, 2019.

Tampa, Fl - Office.

Hey guys. I filed for AOS on 12/10/18 and have been basically looking every week online for my husband's EAD/AP approval. Looked today and saw that the processing time on their website went up from 5-7 months to 6.5-8.5 months  feeling a little defeated but hopeful some news will come earlier than that.
