Not everyone came with a K1 visa. Probably LoveBird is here with F1 visa and it comes with an EAD.

F1 is a student visa which doesn't come with an EAD unless you're doing some kind of OPT extension.

What kind of enquiry? How did you enquire directly to the NBC?

I called the USCIS and spoke with a lady to find out how far with my RFIE. The RFIE  was for form I-485. Because it has been more than 60 days and I have not heard anything.

Your'e correct not everyone arrives with a K1 but the person who originally posted that message states on their timeline they arrived on a K1 visa in 2018?

Generally RFIEs or RFEs for the i485 come at the beginning of the process so it's not necessarily true that you are nearing to be scheduled.

I am just wondering why my I485 has not been reviewed for me to even get an update of "ready to be schedule for interview" but some March filers are getting ready to be schedule for interview. I am frustrated.

Besides it has been 86 days now (including Sundays and Saturdays), so I expect to hear an update on I-485.

Hmm.... Frustration upon frustration

I'm an October filer and my I-485 case status has been "all fingerprints have been taken and case is in process" since December 5th. The month of filing doesn't matter my dear.

K1 visa allows you to work with your social security number. I arrived the USA in October 2018, got my social security number in December (with a DHS restriction on it). I applied for a job at a pharmaceutical store, got the job in February and i can see my payroll with all the Federal, state, social security and county taxes being deducted.

I still do not have my EAD but i am scheduled for GC interview on 21st of May. Go to social security administration website and read more about eligibility to work with K1.

K1 visa holders with SSN are allowed to work without EAD. That is my case though, i don't know about others.

A k1 visa holder is a legal alien allowed to work.

Being around this site almost 2 year, and this is 1st time someone say K1 visa is legal to work without EAD.

Anyone can confirm?

Well, I guess my case is different. I got my SSN and sources around me told me with my SSN i am good to go. Applied for a job without EAD, got the job. My SSN was the only thing they asked for. A form was filled out by my employers and it has something to do with DHS. I’ll post details here. I just got to work.
