Hi there;

Today my husband And I had my AOS INTERVIEW. We filed in December 2018! We had very friendly staff at the Raleigh NC field office. We had about a 90 minute wait as we arrived 45 minutes early.We were with our Immigration Officer for 20 minutes. I was approved on the spot. Within 15 minutes of leaving my husband received a text and an email that my green card was being processed. Immigration officer told me 2-3 weeks to receive it. It was an overall great experience.

Congratulations!! 🤩

Hey.

I have a question about the EAD expedition.

I have a job interview on Monday and I unfortunately I don't have EAD yet. It is supposed to arrive mid-May (101 days today since NOA1). I just barely started looking/applying for job and I didn't think an interview would come so quickly.

Now I already told them that I don't have EAD yet, but also kinda said there is this possibility of the expedition.

I know they want to fill the position ASAP.

How do I phrase (sell) better this expedition thing during the interview? How realistic is to get one? And How long does it take realistically?

Thank you so much.

I can’t speak for all. I say give and take one month from submitting the expedite. 2 weeks for case to change and 1 week to get ead. Currently it’s mailed to me. Still waiting.  So companies usualy interview multiple people and then they finally choose and that could takes weeks. If they are in a hurry to fill it, that will be difficult. you will need them to write you an offer letter with a start date, let’s say they want you to start work 3 weeks from now. Right away you can file for expedite and wait. Depends on Uscis how quickly they look into your stuff.

AOS/EAD/AP ->: 11/29/18 - NOA1: 12/04/18

Biometric NOA:  12/14/18  Biometric Appt: 12/26/18

Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview: 1/16/19

EAD/AP approval: 3/18/19

AOS Interview Appt: 6/4/19

AOS Interview: 7/10/19

AOS Approved: 7/23/19

GREEN CARD IN HAND: 7/26/19

@Lebanese23, Can you tell me how exactly you expedite your EAD? I know you called your congressman. But what documents did you provide? more than the job offer.

I just noticed this thread was a thing! Hahaha, hi everyone.

Had my biometrics appointment on January 2nd...starting to get nervous after seeing a lot of you getting your interviews and stuff, who had later biometrics appointments than me.

Should I be nervous, or is this normal? I don't understand what's going on.

Hello, my bio was on Jan 4th, no updates. Your waiting time completely depends on your local field office. EAD takes around 5-6 months to be produced.

My office says 13-20 months wait,  but people wait in average around 8 months. Check processing time at your local field office and update your timeline ( it can help everyone).

Hi there!

Hard to tell how processing times work. True, it all depends on how busy your local office is but it might as well be a group of factors.  I have seen applicants from offices that have shorter "lines" than the one in San Bernardino and that are well into their sixth month of waiting, whereas we were able to get an interview in less than 4 months.

We had our interview today and by the time we entered the room, our officer had already made a decision to approve. We frontloaded our application so the only document she actually asked of us was my birth certificate, for verification. Very basic questions, in less than 10 minutes we were already walking back to the car. So maybe it helps when you provide solid info when you send the application in? I don't really know, but both in K1 stage and in AOS it seemed to have helped us. Plus there is always the matter of background checks, especially for those that lived in multiple countries before. As I said, hard to tell. But don't lose hope and don't worry, one of these days you will check your mail and find a letter with your interview appointment, and this part of the journey will be over before you even know.

Hey guys!!

Late Nov filer here 11/23!! Hoping they start your EAD processing in mid/late April as I'll more than likely be included within your processing time. Just watching the clock tick at the moment for myself with Day 119.

I always seem to fall in later month filing, yet borderline for following month filing, it's so exciting for those waiting!! But I'm just as excited waiting for my EAD/AP as I was once filing the K1!! The thought excites me and above all else I'll fate decide when it's time for me to get my card :)

❤️❤️❤️

How awesome!! I filed in December 2017 for a K1 and I've always had a thing for December. I think I'll classify myself as a No'cemberite (mix between a Novemberon and Decemberon). To be fair, I wish in a way I was a December filer as I loved being a December K1 filer. The wait is hard for anyone and such a financial/boredom strain at bear minimum.

I have no doubt I'll get approved during December approvals for EAD/AP especially with only having a received date of 11/23. I'll be rooting for December filers too, it's coming soooooooooooooonnnnnnn!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Other than the job offer letter. I wrote a brief description for my expedite. Saying how my hubby had to wait for me to come home to go out cuz he can’t drive without an EAD, it’s a hassle living in the burbs.  Also mentioned that I bought a condo and need his help with bills. Just basic stuff really. The congressman just helped push it through. They have higher power I guess. Also want to note that my congressman is new to his position so he wants to prove he’s doing something!! so that worked on our side👍🏽

Hey hey!!! You were a fellow December 2017 filer too, right? Hope all is well with you.

That's so awesome for the EAD expedite!!!! I thought about expediting it but after talking it out with the hubby we probably wouldn't have qualified for it in any category as he makes 4 X the income requirement for I-864 although we still struggle especially with high living costs here but I'm so extremely bored as you could imagine. I haven't even seeked jobs yet as I don't have my combo to enable me to do so which makes me so sad :(

Here's hoping our EAD comes sooooooon ❤️❤️❤️
