Finally our case status updated to : Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview

So I hear if the NBC processes it then there is no interview?

Can I ask for evidence of this? At one time it was true for K1s as they had just been recently interviewed at the consulate. They have since implemented a change in policy where all AOS applicants are interviewed.

Just googling around and I came across cases where interview wasn't required.

The new policy came into effect May 2018:

May 15, 2018 PA-2018-04 Policy Alert SUBJECT: Adjustment of Status Interview Guidelines and Waiver Criteria Purpose U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is updating guidance in the USCIS Policy Manual regarding adjustment of status interview guidelines and interview waivers. Background Certain foreign nationals in the United States may file an application with USCIS to adjust their status to lawful permanent resident status. All adjustment of status applicants must be interviewed by an officer unless USCIS determines that the interview is unnecessary. This update affects Volume 7, Part A of the Policy Manual. These updates will improve the detection of fraud, misrepresentation, and risk of harm to the United States, as well as provide additional identity, eligibility, and credibility verification. The guidance contained in the Policy Manual is controlling and supersedes any related prior guidance. Policy Highlights  Clarifies that USCIS interviews all adjustment of status applicants unless USCIS waives the interview.  Updates the list of types of adjustment of status cases in which USCIS might waive the interview by removing employment-based and fiancé(e)-based adjustment cases from the list.  Edits the guidance on relocating cases for adjustment interviews to be consistent with the updated list of cases in which USCIS might waive the interview. Citation Volume 7: Adjustment of Status, Part A, Adjustment of Status Policies and Procedures, Chapter 5, Interview Guidelines [7 USCIS-PM A.5].

The evidence you have googled most likely occurred before May 2018 and or the interview was waived on a case by case basis as described above.

You can read a good blog on the current policy and how it affects K1s adjusting status here:

There is one policy that just came into effect December 10, officer MAY consider waiving the interview, but that's only for form I-751 (Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence) that are filed AFTER December 10, 2018. But this has nothing to do with K1 applicants.  We unfortunately have to go through the first interview, but we may get lucky and not have to go through a 2nd interview when we file I-751.

So we went to do biometrics so we went to do biometrics today and my husband was born in Lebanon but his citizenship is Palestine. Palestine wasn’t an option for his citizenship so the staff was forced to put Lebanon. Will that be an issue?
