I didn't do that. I did one packet with one cover letter with all required documents as per instructions on the website.  You think they need duplicate copies of the passport, k1 visa, noa2, i-94, all that repeated x 3???

Absolutely they do. The instructions DO state what is required for EACH seperate form. You needed to send copies of each required supporting document for each specific form. So yes, 3 of almost everything.

The I485 is processed at your local field office while the I765 and I131 are processed at the National Benefits Center. The packages will be seperated for transport so most likely you will receive an RFE for both the I765 and I131.

PS the seperate coverletters are also important for the same reason. How is an adjudicator at the NBC to know what your I131 packet contained if your cover letter is attached to the I485 that is across the country at your local field office?

I've called...over and over. The person handling my case (each officer deals with certain letters of the alphabet by surname) wont pick up the phone even though she is in the office (officers sitting next to her desk have told me she is in). I cant go in person. No DL. No transit.

must be a thing.  our lady never answered the phone either and I know she was there.

Finally got the texts last night at like 1130 our time, so that could technically be 12:30 EST making it a notification today.  They texted my phone number, not hubbys (I was telling him to watch his phone like a hawk haha). And the check has been processed/is pending in our checking account. Yay! Now the clock can finally start ticking!

I almost had a heart attack when my husband got his Biometrics NOA today(!), December 20, scheduled for December 24, and we already had travel plans for Christmas starting tonight! I am also annoyed as it was apparently sent out on December 11 but didn't arrive to our mailbox until today, and my husband could have planned to walk in earlier this month.

However I called customer service and USCIS and ASC offices will be closed on Monday due to the Christmas Eve holiday established by the president's executive order, so any appointments scheduled for Monday will be canceled and new appointments will be scheduled.

So, PSA: if you had a biometrics appointment scheduled for December 24,  it will be canceled and rescheduled as federal offices will be closed that date. No need to manually reschedule.

You can go do it now as a walkin if you prefer too.

The office just closed 6 minutes ago and we fly out tonight.

That being said, do we have to do our biometrics appointment at the ASC office closest to our residence/indicated on the NOA? We're traveling to Florida and could easily do it at an ASC over there, but I'm worried that would muck up his application.

I have read that the location doesnt matter. What I would do is just go in as a walkin in FL and ask. Show them your appt letter and remind them that ASC will be closed on your appt date and you would like to just get it done. All they can say is no.🤷‍♀️

Hi @K1visaHopeful! On form I-131 is the barcode needed? Every time I print it out the barcode won't print. Does it matter if it doesn't have it? TIA🙂

No. If you Google "USCIS Bar Code Requirements" you will find this:

https://www.uscis.gov/forms/forms-updates/uscis-2d-barcode-requirements

"USCIS 2D Barcode Requirements

Third-party vendors may apply these requirements to their own commercial 2D barcode generators, which will improve accuracy and efficiency at our Lockbox facility.

Depending on which internet browser you use, the barcode may not be visible when you open the form. We will process all forms with or without a barcode at the bottom of the page."

It's common for the texts to not come through instantaneously. How long have you been waiting?

You're in California so you've been waiting 17 minutes?
