Oh I don’t know how and who I can reach.

Sorry I am new to the US.

Depending on which state you live in, Kurt google senate office and get their number and call and/or email them. And tell them your situation.

So I finally went to my AoS interview at Newark today. I had a very early interview. Pretty much as soon as it opened. I would have to say that it couldn't have gone smoother. The security measure wasn't a pain at all.

1. I didn't have to take off my shoes as my wife and I wore sneakers to the interview.

2. I took off my watch and emptied my pocket into the tote bag of documents.

3. The guard directed us to the right floor.

4. Went to the registration window and checked in for the interview.

5. Waited for the interview... and waited... and 1 hour later we were called.

6. Entered the interview. The interviewing officers(IO from now on) was friendly but professional. He went straight for the questions. Oddly my wife got asked most of the questions when she is the USC and I'm the applicant.

7. He then asked us if we had any other documents. We did I handed over photos of which he kept some, tax bills, joint account statements, shared medical insurance policies, and shared house and car insurance policies.

8. At the end of the interview he gave us a form indicating he still had some reviewing to do and to expect a decisions within 120 days. I asked, "Exactly how long?"

"Up to 120 days... but I will usually have a determination by the end of the day.", said the IO.

9. We got up shook hands with and thanks the IO and left.

10. We got the nearby parking lot, paid the $20 in parking for the time and left for IHOP for a nice breakfast.

All in all it was a good experience with little to complain about. Getting there was a little tough but we had a car and parking wasn't really that bad all things considered.
So with that all done all I can do now is wait.

Something unexpected happened, my LFO is San Francisco and the waiting time is around 17 months to 24 months, so I wasn't really expecting any updates on my AOS any time soon. Today I went in and check my case status out of curiosity and it says that 2 days ago an interview was scheduled .

So I have a couple of questions, How long does it take to receive the notice on the mail? To the interview should we take our daughter who is also adjusting status? and would the notice say the documents that we should take to the interview?

When did your case become "ready to schedule for interview"? I'm also near SF but I filed in October 2018, ready to schedule since July 24th. I also still don't have my EAD/AP.

11/12/2017 - Entered US on J1
10/18/2018 - Filed AOS at NBC
12/11/2018 - Biometrics
02/28/2019 - USCIS mailed RFIE on I485
05/09/2019 - USCIS received RFIE response
06/11/2019 - USCIS mailed another RFIE on I485
06/19/2019 - USCIS received 2nd RFIE response
07/24/2019 - I485 ready to schedule for interview
01/22/2020 - I485 interview (in San Jose instead of San Francisco)

Hi all.

My husband and I are planning a trip in December to have our wedding celebration with his family in the Dominican Republic. Since we are having our wedding celebration in December, we decided to stay for the holidays as well. So we will be there for a whole month.

My question is: is there a time limit he can be out of the US with only his EAD/AP card?

I talked to someone who went on vacation using ead/ap. she said stays for 2 month for vacation.

Well only 2 days after my interview my status was updated to "new card is being produced" today. The end is in sight. I literally broke down in tears of joy when I saw that status update. I think when I get that card it will be the next happiest day of my life after my wedding day.

Hi Everyone! Anyone here adjusting from K1 and waiting for interview at San Jose Local Field Office?

I checked the stats here in VisaJourney and the last update from SJ-USCIS office is last July. I am just wondering if our local office is having a major back log.

Congrats, it's such a huge relief that's for sure. When my wife received her Permanent Resident Card in the mail she was in shock and disbelief. I was so proud and happy for her. All that hard work paid off! Enjoy it! You guys earned it!

Yay finally after 275 days my EAD updated to ‘new card is being produced’!
My AP has not been changed in status and still says ‘case was received’. Has anybody experience with the AP not updating but still receiving both together? Or will I only receive the EAD

Yes. The status rarely changes for AP.

Or will I only receive the EAD

Likely not just the EAD unless:

1. You did not file them concurrently (ie. Your Noa1 received date for each is not the same).

2. You expedited one but not the other or both but they expedited them separately.
