Just got our notice in the mail for our AOS interview - September 10th. Just wondering for those who have recently had their interviews - any other random documentation requested by the FO on the day of that isnt listed on the notice letter?  In addition to the originals and copies of stuff listed on the letter, I am going to bring a copy of our I-485 and I-864 and a copy of everything we submitted with that but just wondering if any other random requests have been asked. Thanks!

Our FO only asked for copies of joint assets, we gave medical insurance cards, water, electric, gas bills and bank accounts all in our names. The official said it was more than enough, I had a lot more to give haha. She took the copies and that was it! But be ready to be asked of different documents, having more than enough is better than not having enough! Best of luck!

Because it's taken so long I doubt you'll get an RFE. The IO would have made a judgement right away after looking through your Afile for your medical records and requesting a new medical if they couldnt find it. They dont waste their time and hunt.

Likely your office us just slow. Approval will come though.

Great news. It turns out you were right. Our status changed last night to our card is being produced. I am so so so so so so happy.

So we had our interview (i-485 from a K1 visa) on July 25 at the Baltimore field office... and no update on whether our case was approved. I asked at the end of our interview and the agent said we should hear back "within 120 days", which seems kinda weird compared to everyone else who heard about their green card within a week. Nothing suspicious at the interview - we weren't separated, no hardball questions, didn't get an RFE after the interview. We got a status update that day with the following message:

"Your Case Status: Initial Review

Your interview for your Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS, Receipt Number MSC1990305671, was completed, and your case must be reviewed. We will mail you a notice if we make a decision or take further action. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address. "

The rest of the text is the same from when we initially submitted the petition. Haven't had any updates since, and when I check our USCIS account online nothing's been updated since the biometrics appointment. Is this normal? I'm quietly freaking out because I honestly thought we'd be done after the interview.

Baltimore is "famous" for not approving on the spot.

@NikkiFromCanada can share her experience with you. They filed in October, were interviewed in May and approved until July.

As of August 12, my EAD card was shipped! After 234 days (Dec 21) since applying .😁 At this point it isn't much use since my adjustment of status interview is next month on the 18th so I'll have a month of use out of it 😒

Ha, of course the day after I posted this, I got the email update saying the card is in production. (Woo-hoo!)

Got our "Testing and Interview" case status update email today.  Our interview has been scheduled.  They should mail us the date and time soon.

I changed jobs in June, about 6 months after we filed for AoS.  Is it just the Affidavit of Support and its evidence that I need to change, or more paperwork too?  I've been way out of the frame of mind of doing immigration work since December.  My wife and I are busy working, we've bought her a car (she started driving on the right side of the road here in the US), we have a house under construction, and so on...

June 2016: We started writing to each other

June-July 2017: Met in person in the US for our first anniversary

December 2017 - January 2018: Met again in the US and got engaged

01/09/2018: I-129F sent to the USCIS Dallas Lockbox via FedEx

01/16/2018: Received NOA1 (NOA1 notice date: 01/11/2018)

June-July 2018: Met in person in Singapore and Australia for our second anniversary

08/03/2018: Notice date on our NOA2 (updated in USCIS's new website on August 6)

08/15/2018: Our case reached NVC

08/22/2018: Received NVC case number

09/04/2018: Our package left NVC (arrived 9/11, and she sent packet 3 that day)

09/20/2018: Received packet 4; scheduled interview

10/30/2018: Interview - told that we're approved!  Now waiting to receive the visa...
11/27/2018: Port of Entry at BWI

12/1/2018: Our wedding!

12/8/2018: Filed AoS on the way to our honeymoon (12/8-15/2018)
6/~7/2019: EAD and AP approved
09/25/2019: AOS interview in Orlando -- approval and green card!

Next step, June 2019: Filing I-751

Note: My wife is a Singaporean.  She moved to Australia before we met and got permanent residency there.

Thank you for supporting always.

page1, part 1.  I am applying for...

1.a. Initial permission to accept employment

1.b. Replacement of lost, stolen or damaged employment authorization documents ...,,

1.c. Renewal of my permission to accept employment.

My son doesn’t work soon because he’s 14 years old but need SSN and I heard I can apply with I-765. So it should be checked 1.a, right?

Plus, he was 13 years old when applied I485 and EAD last year but he is 14 years old now. Do I need to pay for biometric for him this time?

1a.

No, I765 is free when you file I485 concurrently or when you file I485 first. Provide your photocopies of the I485 Noa1 receipt notices for yours and his as explained above with your new I765s.
