Thank you so much for your response! So you followed any guideline for after you submitted the evidence? You just made a phone call to check the status? :)

I'm not sure if there's any guideline for that. I'm pretty sure there's as many advices / different cases as people on this forum. 😁 I was just getting really anxious because one person told me his wife got approved 2 days after she faxed all the evidences. So I was basically checking the status every hour for the first 3 days. On the 4th day I've freaked out 😜 Funeral is quite a time sensitive thing and it cannot wait. I called USCIS and ask for a Tier 2 officer, explained the situation and he submitted that service request on my behalf. I've been talking to some other people on this forum who followed "my" guidelines and Tier 2 just told them to wait. I guess I spoke to an officer whose heart was not made out of ice...

Hi everyone..

I'm a Dec filer and it's been 232 days with no change in EAD/AP status; still reads "Fingerprint Fee was Received"

As i'm outside of normal processing i submitted a case inquiry on July 30th; USCIS emailed me to say i'd hear a response by August 21st 2019.

Does anyone have any experience with submitting a case inquiry regarding EAD/AP? (I'm not holding my breath to hear anything by August 21st if i'm honest)

I checked today and the status of the case inquiry reads....

"As of July 30, 2019, your inquiry about why your case is taking longer than our processing time,

referral number SR***********MSC, is currently not assigned for processing"

I'm not really sure what my next steps are, or what my available options are? I'm kinda done with the whole "just wait" thing 😴😴

Once you submit a case inquiry, the USCIS will “review” your case and you’ll only be able to contact them within 15-30 days after your inquiry... unfortunately. I’m at day 258 and the update is still stuck at “Case Received” I also filed an inquiry last July 15, i just called this morning and I didn’t get much information (as I expected). Even if we ask for a Tier 2, they don’t say much and kept saying “Just wait” lol I think we can’t really do much anymore. Maybe try contacting your congressman or senator to check your case??? I might do that since we’ve been waiting too long. You can also submit an expedite request... if you have a “good enough” reason to expedite (e.g. financial loss)

Thank you for your reply..

I think i'm going to contact my Congressman and explain my current situation. I have been tempted to file an expedite as my financial situation is becoming unbearable, but i've read that expedites can take up to 30 days to be approved (and obviously approval not guaranteed).

What happens if we don't receive a reply from the case inquiry within 30 days? I was hoping that the case inquiry would hold USCIS accountable for the delay but it seems not 😕

244 days here. I submitted a case inquire last week and after a few days the online case status history updated to "On August 2, 2019, your inquiry about why your case is taking longer than our processing time, referral number SR******, was assigned to an officer for response." but then immediately changed too "On August 2, 2019, we sent a response to your inquiry about why your case is taking longer than our processing time, referral number SR**********"  and "On August 2, 2019, your inquiry about why your case is taking longer than our processing time, referral number SR1*********MSC, was completed." so it sounds like they sent me a letter and closed my service request but my EAD is still not approved.

I am still waiting to see if I get that response on the mail but doesn't look promising at all.

Almost makes a "case status inquiry" pointless 😕

If you receive no response with 30 days of the second case status inquiry; you file a third one...?

Surely there should be a point where USCIS are held accountable?

At this point we should just expect for the i-485 interview rather than wait for the ead/ap approval lol

Well, I got a reply from my senator's rep.

Quote

Form: I-485

Thank you for your inquiry regarding this constituent’s immigration matter. A review of our systems shows your constituent has been scheduled to appear for their interview on 9/18/2019 at 7:15AM.  An interview notice has been sent to the address of record and your constituent should follow all of the instructions listed on this notice.

Form: I-765

his case will be routed for expedited processing.  Once this case is reviewed, your constituent will receive a decision or notice of further action.  Due to the extremely high volume of expedite requests for this case type, there are numerous cases involving exigent or humanitarian issues already in the expedite queue, and we are unable to provide a specific timeframe for the expedited review.  The strict enforcement of the expedite criteria means that all cases sent for expeditious handling are urgent, and we assure you that this case will be adjudicated as soon as possible.

Good news is that my interview is now scheduled. No news on EAD. Yeah, at this rate I'll have my green card in hand before the EAD 😅

All case status enquiries are pulled from the regular pile and sent elsewhere. It will be up to how back logged that office is.

There is obviously no accountability. If their was they wouldnt have recently pushed processing times from 6.5 to 8.5 back down to 2.5 to 5.

All of Nov, Dec, Jan, and Feb are now outside of normal processing times. How is that being accountable?

I have the same message like you do. I made an online inquiry Sunday and I see the update now that says is currently not assigned for processing however my EAD is out of processing time.

Hello all,

I am sorry to hear that there are still a lot of December filers without EAD/AP.

I received my combo card just today and I have 2 questions regarding it:

- on the page of the "instructions" sent with it, it says to bring your combo card wherever you go to prove your alien status. Is it safe just have it in the wallet? what do you guys do? because there is also that huge sleeve that they sent to "protect it".

- I will probably have to renew my card since in one year i will probably still not have my green card (Seattle FO here). When should I apply for the renew? Does it take how much it takes to get the first one? because if it does, I should basically apply in a couple months.

Thanks,

Have a good day and don't lose hope 🤞

You can apply for a renewal Combo Card 6 months before it expires.

Just an update -- received an email notification this morning that they USCIS scheduled an interview for my I-485. I am a December 13 AOS filer. The only reason I received by combo card is because i expedited it with a job offer letter in March and received it in mid April. The majority of other AOS applicants in my FO/nov-dec filers have not received their EAD, or have just received it a couple weeks ago if it was not an expedite.
