TBH I don't know if contacting our senator was the turning point of our approval, they didn't request any documentation from us we filled her form, printed out and mailed it to her office. https://www.harris.senate.gov/services/help-with-a-federal-agency

That was our case, I don't know how yours can be expedited. We just did that, we didn't expedite through USCIS. She might have done something, we don't know. It might also be that our case just got approved like everyone else.

I filled out a form too and email it to her office and she responded the day after, asking me if I want to expedite etc.

But I don't really have ground to expedite. So I don't know.

Thank you for sharing your experience. And Congrats again on receiving your combo card.

127days since my case was restarted, should I ask USCIS if I could get another RFE or just wait for something?

I am scared if I miss RFE because Initial RFE was sent but did not delivered unitl I call USCIS because of USPS during Thanksgiving last year.

I waste 2months to respond to the RFE, now 334 days total!

Unless you receive your approval notice there is still a chance that you could get an RFE

Are you still within normal processing times?

Is this for your I485 or I765 or I131?

I applied those three forms at the same time.

I understand that you filed all concurrently but you did not mention what form you received the RFE for.

What was your PD?

Are you still within normal processing times for I765 and I131 at the NBC?

Are you still within normal processing times for I485 at your local field office.

If you explain that maybe we can help you figure out what to do?

Sorry, What is PD?

I don’t know how I can know if it’s within normal process. I got notice of restarting after RFE on March 5.

PD is your Noa1 receipt date.

If you tell me your PD and your local field office I can tell you if you are within normal processing times at your local field office for I485.

Can you please answer my question about what form you received the RFE for?????

That will help me extremely in trying to help you.

What do you mean by "restarting"? Nothing restarts. Your timeline still starts on your Noa1 receipt date.

Oh I see. Thank you.

NoA 1 is August 16 2018, then got RFE for I-486, and local is Honolulu.

Restart means after RFE, the case process was restarted on March 5 2019.

I think you helped me a lot lot about my husband income documents when I got RFE or before that. :)

Perfect!

So you are definitely outside of normal processing times for EAD and AP as they are processing mid November 2018 applications currently. Have you made a service request for both of those applications yet? You could have a long time ago. If you did, what did they say?

As for I485 you are still way within normal processing times in Honolulu.

It's processing at 11 to 25 months for family based applications so you have just met the minimum processing times but you will have a long time before you can make an enquiry.

I'll emphasize that nothing gets "restarted" so I don't understand why you are stuck on emphasizing your "restart date". That date has nothing to do with anything.

Thank you. I actually requested about EAD, after wrote here today.

Do you mean the RFE doesn’t affect EAD and so on?

I really want EAD and AP asap.

Thank you again.

It does BUT you have not stated what has happened with your RFE for the I485 for me to be able to provide you with an answer.

What does your status say for the I485?

Have you called USCIS and asked if your RFE has been processed and asked if your case has been sent to your local field office?

If it has then your EAD and AP should continue processing.

Hello,

We finally had our interview yesterday in the Chicago Field office. per usual, you go through security similar to the airport, get ready to take off your shoes. we go upstairs 2nd floor to check in, the receptionist and guard were very friendly and joked with us when i didn't say good morning, trying to keep us relaxed a bit.

Our appointment was at 11:45, we arrive 11:30 and waiting until 12:30 to go in. so prepare to wait at  least an hour, we weren't sure if their lunch break was the reason of delay. there were multiple officers taking people in, i think i counted 5 or 6. ours was a young female, she was nice but still a bit stand-offish. We took our Oath, she took my hubby's fingerprints and both our IDs, his passport. first thing she asked about was his medical because it wasn't in the packet which i did submit. whatever i made her a copy of our original ones, she asked for the original, there goes that!! now I'm stuck with a copy which I hope it's not needed anymore.  She asked him to confirm his identity, Name, DOB, address, etc. then she asked both of us how we met and when we got married. when we moved in together, where we both work and what we do.

She then went through the yes/no questions, she randomly picked to ask him, like has he even been denied entry to US, ever been arrested, prostitution,etc...she asked if he ever been pulled over by police or got a ticket. at the time of filing we said no, but he got a speeding ticket in May and we paid it in June, she asked where he got pulled  over and who pulled him over, my husband didn't know the exact details, he just said near our home, then she asked if we paid it, he told her yes, she said that's all they care about. MAKE SURE YOU PAY your unpaid tickets before your interviews, if you have one.

At the end she said that was easy enough, right? we're like yes, all she said was give me all your proof of relationship, gave her utilities bills, bank joint account, joint tax returns, etc, and our wedding bill lol, also like 15 pics. she says she will review and we should hear something within 2 weeks(hopefully)

15 minutes and we were out the door. it wasn't grilling whatsoever, but I'm curious why some say they get approved on the spot while some have to wait.

I've heard of on spot approvals in the past but not recently. I think they've changed their lingo to state that they will recommend you for approval rather than straight out approval.
