Hello everybody! My case was approved November 6th at VSC. The letter says that they informed the Embassy that my son will get an immigration visa. I haven't got anything yet from NVC. Is it possible that my file will go directly to the Consulate without going through the NVC?

Nope that’s not possible. NVC collects all documents and makes sure they are good enough for Issuing Visa. Consulate can only schedule interview. As far as I know. There more experts on this forum than I am guess.

By Approved you mean you recieved Case Number? Or you mean they sent you an email that says they are communicating with consulate to schedule interview?

Can somebody plz post the complete list of docs we need to send in the IV package

Depending on your immigrant visa category, you will need different docs. Check below link.

Congrats!! Hope you hear soon about your interview date, may I know before you receive you case complete, what was the status of your IV and AOS package on ceac? Should they both convert to accepted?

Before I received the Case complete, It said "Submitted". And then when it was complete it said "Accepted".

But something miraculous happened after I posted my last message above. Remember that I called NVC this morning around 830am to inquire about my case complete and when I can expect to get an interview date.  At noon this afternoon, I got an email with my interview date of January 9, 2019!!! My case got closed last week Thursday on Dec. 14 and we got an interview date a week later on Thursday Dec. 20th! Praise God!!!!!💃💃💃🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴❤❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸. Praying that everyone gets their great news sooner than later!

Bummer! I just called NVC and they confirmed that our case is complete on Dec. 14, 2018 and in line for interview scheduling. Someone asked me earlier how I knew. So it's now reconfirmed.

However, they just told me that they scheduled everything for January so we MIGHT be scheduled in February, even that is not definite. We are Dominican Republic case...I know they are a super busy embassy. Bummer! Was hoping to celebrate our 1 yr anniversary in February, in the USA. Hoping for a miraculous earlier interview than anticipated....

Update (a few hours later) !!!

How long does CEAC processing take? We submitted our documents about a week ago (and AOS side about 2 days ago).

For me it took 13 days. Average time is 10 - 14 as per my observation after looking at other’s time lines.

Thanks. Did your documents just sit as "Submitted" until they changed to accepted? Did you get any notification that you had "done your part, now its the NVC's turn to review". Or is "Submitted" all it said. Hope that makes sense :)

It depends what country case is that. For me I had to submit AOS online. However for other docs I had 2 options Email or mail. We chose email as its fastest. And now my case is close. But still NVC site doesn’t show anything submitted lol. I didn’t even had options to upload documents. So I can’t answer that question.

Its explained here when you scroll down: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/step-6-submit-documents-to-the-nvc.html
