I’ve heard something like that before and I didn’t want to beleive...but it hold some truth to it because it’s been 4mths since CC, still no interview dates.  I’m just ready for 2019 lets see what happens.  The scary part for me is there is no higher level to report this matter to, which makes it very unfortunate for people like us.

Hello ..I need advice from my fellow Nigerians..I am spending thirty days in Nigeria..if I need an extension for another month...to stay there .

How can i go about the process? On my 3 visits Nigerian immigration always stamped 30 days in my passport...the way things r looking with January scheduling I am assuming nvc is already done with January.. thanks in advance..

Well, this sounds quite informative. It's really possible to think along this line honestly. However, following the previous/existing immigration law, there seems not to be quota for spouses, unless the law changed recently. Let's consider it this way: there could only be modifications in the different categories of VISA. For example, more priorities may be given to a category of VISA for some months than the other categories. This is just my thought following the different pieces of information across different embassies/official sites. So, an individual embassy may decide that there is no more interview for immigrant category this year due to some reasons best known to them, BUT NOT THAT THEY HAVE EXHAUSTED THEIR QUOTA. There is basically no limitation of this kind to spouses' VISA. It is for other categories. Another reason why I don't want to accept this piece of information absolutely is simply the fact that if indeed the law has introduced quota system for immediate relatives (spouses), logically 2019 starts with the month of January, and not February. My take on this is simply that we will need to see a page that explains this new quota system or the official source of this information. Interestingly, a glimpse on the previous thread in Lagos embassy should have also shown this (except if it's a new law as pointed out) , but this was not the thread. ( I stand to be corrected on the previous thread in Lagos embassy.) This is just my take for now. We are all in the dark at the moment, but let's expect surprises at any time. This waiting is so so CRAZY, but we will survive it.

Blessings!

Basically, you have to go to an immigration office and extend it. You will receive a new stamp on your passport for extension after paying the required fee. It's not a difficult process. I guess other friends can throw more light on this. Safe trip!

Take your passport to Nigeria immigration service for extension they will give you extra 2weeks for free without making any payment but if you are staying more than the 2weeks extension you have to pay for it that’s how it works
