That link talks about USCIS/DHS. Once things move to the NVC at Dept. of State it's a different story. In all likelihood,  a partial shutdown it seems would impact visa processing just as it did during the previous shutdown show! That would be a bummer!

Oh sweet lord Jesus. My interview is in January and I really, really didn't need one more thing to worry about!

Bummer is the right word. ☹️

On another forum, there is a user @Akulkarniwho had a CC date of 1-Nov and got interview date of 17-Jan at Mumbai consulate for his mom's IR5 case. He seems to have gotten the email on Saturday (likely was sent out late Friday). Gives hope to us all. Here is the link.

I was so happy to see that someone with a CC in November got an an interview in January for Mumbai.  But then I realized that persons PD is in like Sep 2017 mines Feb 2018 😭

Sorry, didnt mean to raise hopes. I am not sure that PD plays a part, but maybe it does. Who knows. We will know more as people get their interview dates.

Lol I wish. Our interview was approved on dec 3rd, status still says Ready. No Visa issued yet. I don't know of we are in AP... I don't know why it's taking so long.

It took us 2 weeks after the interview to approve. Interview on Novermber 16, and approved on November 29th. I’ve seen other taking longer. Hope you get it soon... 🙏🤞☘️

Has anyone heard about a possible government shutdown coming the end of December? I heard on the news that the president mentioned it in a tense conversation within the oval office (yesterday?) Since we are all "paying customers" would a government shutdown affect us and NVC or embassies working on these interviews/visas? I too am becoming soo depressed and try to avoid both this forum and my email; I cannot imagine what it has been like for those of you who have been waiting months on end with no word. We have been waiting since the end of October and already i feel like my heart is slowly crumbling to pieces each time my email is empty and each time the NVC rep says the same thing about their darn queue. Really trying to tell myself that it is ok to not be Super woman and cry when I need to as long as i can pull it together and carry on afterwards.

I would really like to know how we can find out how a possible government shut down might affect NVC and us embassies. I have my interview January 3rd in Juarez Mexico and totally freaking out !! How would I be notified if my interview is cancelled? I am currently in the US with a i601a waiver should I just show up anyway? Would the embassy know if I call?

Someone please help...😪😭

Were you approved at interview and then took 2 weeks to get the visa? Or did you have to submit additional documents after interview?

Hubby was given 221(g) to submit additional documents (joint sponsor). They didn’t approve at the interview. They did say everything looked good and hubby did his finger printing. The embassy kept his passport and all his other submitted documents. After two weeks, they approved and mailed everything with visa stamped on his passport.

One of the post earlier said that on the day federal offices closed due to Former president Bush’s funeral, all emails were sent out notifying visa applicants that the embassies will be closed. So the interviews got postponed.

I can’t recall which post since they are so many... sorry. But I do remember that the email was received the day before they closed the federal offices. Some peoples’ interviews were postponed weeks to months... It was such a heated post, I remember that much.

No prob! From the post, it doesn’t look like much of a concern to visa applicants. Blessings! 🙏

I don't know how many times I have checked the CEAC site today... I'm going insane. But...this won't change 👇

YOUR CASE IS CURRENTLY AT: NVC

I.Want.My.Interview.Date!

And I have check ceac a million times too but I'm waiting for the visa to be issued. I'm convinced yesterday they probably thought I was checking too much after awhile I couldn't get in to check
