No envelopes should be opened. Call the embassy and determine if you are ok with opening that envelope or do you need to return to have it resealed.

There was instructions on it for me to open. One said do not open and the other said  Open. And there was hand written you can open. I will call the embassy tomorrow to make sure.

What to do after NOA2.

I've done a little research for your consulate. Here is what I have found. Immigrant visas to the United States are processed for citizens and residents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan at the Consulate General in Almaty.

Further information can be found here: https://kz.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visas/

If you get a P3 letter from the consulate could you share a copy with me. I will use it to help others who come behind you. Thanks.

sure, and thank you!🌷

Typically you will get a packet with a DO NOT OPEN envelope inside a plastic sealed bag. On the outside of the plastic bag will be your passport sandwich in a small pocket outside of the packet. You are instructed to make a small slit to retrieve your passport WHILE leaving the plastic bag sealed. That plastic bag now contains only the DO NOT OPEN envelope that you will put in your carry on luggage to keep it safe only to give it to the immigration officer once you arrive at your POE.

I am not sure what yours looks like so I am only speculating from my experiences with our and others.

Tried uploading pics but it didn't work. But I'm good to go, the second package was for me the embassy does not keep originals except for their forms and the medicals. So they gave me back my originals.

Where can I find the average response time from USCIS to the RFE? We received one and quickly gathered the required documents. It was sent overnight and should have arrived today. I’ve seen anywhere from a few days to months for a response.  Is it possible that we would receive another RFE request or is it usually just one?

No one can say with any certainty how long it will take. Normal has been 2-4 weeks others much longer but those cases are sometimes adjudicator under different conditions dictated by the circumstance/subject of the RFE.

RFE's are a one shot process. So for anyone who is responding it would be prudent if you were to take your time and ensure what you are sending is going to answer the RFE so there is no ambiguity with your answer.

They publish that they have up to 12 weeks to reply to an RFE. Sometimes it sooner and sometimes it's longer.

The USCIS has issued a Ruling, effective April 17, 2007, that gives adjudicators flexibility in determining the length of time a petitioner or applicant has to respond to a Request for Evidence (RFE) or a Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID). Currently, the standard deadline for response to an RFE is twelve weeks (84 days). NOIDs must be responded to within thirty days. Under this regulation, the USCIS will determine how much time should be permitted in any given case, with maximum possible time being what is now the standard response deadline. That is, adjudicators will set deadlines for both RFEs and NOIDs that could be up to twelve weeks in case of RFEs or up to thirty days for NOIDs. No extensions of time are permitted.
