Greetings fellow December filers! What a journey! I haven’t received a NOA2 or RFE yet and wondering how some of you got a live person on the phone. I tried calling yesterday but there was no option for a rep.

We have a thread to answer that question and many more tips. Look for the April 2019 NOA2 -------> NVC thread. Read the first post on the first page.

How do I find out what % of this group has received an approval? 🤔

Mmmmm if it were me I'd start clicking on the tabs in the blue ribbon up yonder. Then I be curious what's hiding behind door number one from the flag in my profile. Pretty much gives me more then enough.  Oh I forgot I'd try and find igors list. Of course all this would make me leave my comfort area. Wow there is so much information on VJ how do you guys find all these nuggets of information?

I checked your timeline and you already have your NOA2, so you will have to wait until your K1 arrives at NVC and then have them make the change.  You can also email/call the NVC and give them a heads up to be looking out for your incoming K1.  I know others will post with maybe better answers.

Fairly good week for December several approvals congrats to all and let's hope the rest of you still waiting are picked up next week or very shortly. Have you ever wondered how and why approvals seem to bring people out of the wood work? Meaning all the silent stalkers they come out in droves once they are approved. I think that's cool how the excitement of their approvals drives them to finally say something. Anyway better late than never welcome to VJ  to all the silent lurkers

Hey guys!

Quick question. I know you are not allowed to leave the country on a K1 visa once you arrive. (Assuming no advanced parole). But I will be flying to Chile to pick my fiancé up and we will travel back to the US together. (It's a huge moment for us and we want to be together.) On our way home, were thinking of spending a few days in Peru and 1 day in Panama prior to Dianas official arrival in the US. Is this Ok to do? She will not have entered the US yet.

Thanks

Yes it's fine as long as you are technically fine with passing through immigration and abide by all rules from those countries. Check to ensure what is needed by both. Do not. Do not. Do not. I'm not studering here. Do not hand over or present the sealed envelope. Don't even talk about. Passing through US immigration depends on that envelope.

Thanks for the reply @Greenbaum but please forgive me, other than the sealed medical exam docs, what other sealed packet are you referring to?

When the beneficiary receives the Visa in their passport there will also be a large envelope  that will have "Do Not Open" printed in LARGE letters. You'll take that with. In your carry on so it doesn't get misplaced along the way. Its given to US Immigration when you arrive at your POE.
