Ok, I've got a follow-up question and this one might be a little harder to answer as people may not really know for sure.  But I'll ask it anyway.  I have had Informed Delivery for a while now.  Maybe 2-3 years.  Does anyone know how reliable it is that the NOA2 letter shows up as a picture in my email on the day it arrives?  Sometimes I get stuff that 'didn't make the cut' that day.  They always offer the disclaimer that I may receive letters and packages that are not pictured in the email.

Being a December filer and seeing the NOA2s pouring in now, you can imagine my anticipation.

Guess that's something USPS has to answer since it's their system that has some flaws here and there.

Wait.  Are you suggesting a service provided by a U.S. government agency 'has some flaws here and there'???  Blasphemy.

Ahhh ok I'll take a stab at it: Informed Delivery this medium was and is more reliable than the old and new sights although their missions are different. On several occasions the picture of a piece of mail on a particular day did not show up that same day but they did show up the next day. As for my NOA2 it was right on time it was delivered the same day in appeared in my email. So I can't complain about that since that was all I signed up for the service for was my NOA2. So to answer your question I would say it is quite reliable and does what it advertises.

We have the exact same dates as you.  Sent 12/7... 'received' 12/11... NOA1 (notified) date 12/14.  Seeing December filers before, during and after us getting their NOA2s so driving ourselves crazy hoping each morning THIS is the day we hear.

Good luck to all.  Godspeed.

for sure....it's coming soon!  By the current results, We are hoping this week or next!  Gives me a reason to go to the mail box everyday.

It's in Gods hands and it's special delivery!

That's true. Somebody found out that it doesn't update automatically when something happened with your case. Only if the person working on your case advise the system to do so. If they forget about it or just don't feel like- no update, no text or e-mail.

Since I am a bit OCD and since our 129F being marked as receive was bugging me, I did at some point call USCIS while waiting for case to transfer. Tier 1 agent basically told me that then. They could see right away that case was in fact approved, but because adjudicating officer didn't do an extra step of clicking whatever it was never updated on the websites to this day. I still get "no change to your case" notification every 2 weeks from new site. My OCD keeps me from removing the case, so I just let it sit there a mini monument to well oiled governmental machine.

@GaryK

I've had cases when Informed delivery would show letter coming, but it won't show up until next day. More rarely, there were cases when letter won't show up in iformed delivery at all but just shows up at the mailbox. Former occurrences are pretty understandable. Sometimes postman just misses a letter during delivery rounds, or has a breakdown, or something along those lines, so it will get delivered next day. The latter ones, I am not so sure about, but those cares seems to be extremely rare. So far, ALL of my Immigration letters were scanned properly. I didn't have informed delivery for NOA1, but typo correction confirmation for 129F, 129F NOA2, SSN, NOA1 x 3 for AOS/EAD/AP were all e-mailed via informed delivery as expected.

There is a service provided by the USPS (US Postal Service) whereby each morning USPS will scan your incoming mail (just the address side of the envelope) and email you an update. It's very convenient these days to have advance notice that an important piece of mail is being delivered.

The service is available to most communities but some are still being rolling out so not all areas are available. Check the website with your zip code to verify your location is available for the service. A person in the USA can sign up for this free service here: https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action

You can also use the USPS Mobile app available in the Google play store.

You actually reached an agent ???!!!  What's your secret?

I called the 800 customer service number tonight in the hope that MAYBE I would get an agent who would deliver the same message to me that was given to you (I'm a hopeful sap).  When I finally managed to get myself to where I could stay on the line for an agent, I was told the wait time was 25-30 minutes.  I thought, 'Not bad'.

65 coma-inducing, suicide-provoking minutes later I decided to cut my losses and hung up.  I mean that horrible song... over and over and over again.  For God's sake, at least play Zeppelin.

It indicated the best days to call are Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.  I may buy a bottle of Jamesie's the size of a canoe and try again Wednesday night.  I guess I'm a sucker for punishment.  I'll chalk it up to penance for misdeeds from a past life.
