I often at time want to tell people that too, disregard either site especially when they get no updates from either one. I have never gotten any information off either site and they both still show case received a month after NOA2, but you are right if I said that I would catch it big time. hehehehehe But they do seem to work for some people so I guess that's a good thing.

Ok, so question for you if you don't mind.  I am one of the folks who instantly started tapping my fingers on the keyboard and created an online account.  I entered my case #, set myself up for text and email alerts.  I was ALL in.

So, I have a 50% chance (or less) of getting an email/text alert as well (never mind a status change online)?  I am totally confused by old/new site but I believe I created my account on the new site.

Received my NOA2 approval update yesterday.

2018-12-12 NOA1

Congratulations.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

The "old" and "new" sites are woefully inadequate. If it were me I'd skip looking there for any updates but that is me.  Email has a better chance of contacting you with updates but it only works for some and not for others. We advise you in the event it does work and that is the reason it is listed on the first page of the NOA2 to NVC threads.

That's true. Somebody found out that it doesn't update automatically when something happened with your case. Only if the person working on your case advise the system to do so. If they forget about it or just don't feel like- no update, no text or e-mail.

Ok, I've got a follow-up question and this one might be a little harder to answer as people may not really know for sure.  But I'll ask it anyway.  I have had Informed Delivery for a while now.  Maybe 2-3 years.  Does anyone know how reliable it is that the NOA2 letter shows up as a picture in my email on the day it arrives?  Sometimes I get stuff that 'didn't make the cut' that day.  They always offer the disclaimer that I may receive letters and packages that are not pictured in the email.

Being a December filer and seeing the NOA2s pouring in now, you can imagine my anticipation.

Hello all December 2018 filers.  I just discovered this thread this morning. Dec 14th NOA1 date and  112 days in. After reading others recent NOA2s,  its encouraging! When first applied we had agreed anything under 180 days was a blessing. Can't help but to admit I am checking the mail daily now.  Timeline here on VJ says April 15th-22nd. Hope we can get the POI by mid August for the K2 child's new school year? Good Luck to all.  Waiting to see the NOA2s popping!

We have the exact same dates as you.  Sent 12/7... 'received' 12/11... NOA1 (notified) date 12/14.  Seeing December filers before, during and after us getting their NOA2s so driving ourselves crazy hoping each morning THIS is the day we hear.

Good luck to all.  Godspeed.
