I have followed  up ( called several times) put in an online inquiry (still waiting for that reply to the inquiry.) In short at this time I have done all I can do. So yes being patient.

Have you tried either of the options below?

First try submitting an inquiry using this link from the Ombudsman; submit your request online.  If you have already submitted online but did not receive a confirmation email with your case number, the submission did not go through.  Please try again.

If you have not submitted Form DHS-7001, Case Assistance Form, online or made other arrangements with our office to file on paper, we will not respond to any emails.

The Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman

U.S. Department of Homeland Security

Washington, DC 20528-0180

Email: cisombudsman@hq.dhs.gov

Web: www.dhs.gov/cisombudsman

Second try your U.S. representative's contact information can be found in this handy directory, and your U.S. senator's information is in this one.

If you receive a response and it contains anyone of these sentences this will be the meaning of that phrase.

If the CSC response is due to a congressional case worker inquiry, the service center will say "security checks"

If the CSC response is from a regular service inquiry from their website, the service center will say "adjudication"

I submitted the online out of processing inquiry on 12/5/18 I got the case is being adjudicated answer and they said I should receive a notice of action within 45 days! I think that's a generic answer though but we'll see.

BTW the Ombudsman site is down due to the government shutdown!

@Greenbaum

I know what USCIS response to me means, but what are you saying, is it in fact a generic response?

That is the response you will receive if you were the author of the inquiry to the status of your case. The other is if a entity on your behalf inquired then that would be the answer. Just another way of keeping tabs on who is who in this process.

In other words you are in fact confirming it was a generic  response and holds no substance!

Sort of yes and sort of no. It's a standard reply with implications that they are still adjudicating your case. There is nothing there definitive to your case so I am unable to shed additional information. My reply was to extend to you maybe some other ways of "skinning the cat" that you may not have tried. I continue to be in your corner but mine are only suggestions.

Congrats and welcome to the group here.

Actually now that I look more closely to my Form I-797C, I see that the UCIS office listed is Laguna Niguel so all is well. Thanks for your help.

@Ladyfinn and @jlehcoFurther down the road we will need some specific information and here is why. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks
