Vehicle accident - does it have to be reported?

I was in a vehicle accident and it was only me involved due to poor tire condition and road was slick.

 

Even though I had already submitted my I-194F, should I also follow up submitting possible missing documentation?

I did look at my own background check months ago and it mentioned "property damage". So that seems to be something to explain the context.

Are you talking about the I-129F and were you arrested and/or fined?

 

If you were arrested and/or fined for property damage then you should attempt to get this added to your submission if you didn't specify this originally. There's no guarantee that it will find its way to your submission but its worth a try. Send it to the address in your NOA1 with a cover letter.

I have done numerous K1 and never seen anything asking about vehicle accident

if the accident only involved you how is it coming up with property damage on your police report?

 

none of my car accidents in the past (3 over my life) are anywhere on my background/police checks. a DMV report it would be, but not criminal report

I assume that if I crash my car into someone's wall, then I've damaged their property, even though the accident involved no other vehicles.

I can try.
Driving in the rainy evening on my way home, my truck hit the slick spot on the road and the tire started to spin.

Likely the tires need replacement but I wasn't paying attention and got no notice from the guys who do the regular maintenance on it. I'm no longer with that service anyway.
 

When I slid off the road my truck flipped and got a lot of dents and misaligned a lot of frames. The property it happened on was just nothing but grass and tree, a wood area. No tree was broken because my truck is so lightweight.

Did the regular duty - call 911, report accident. No one else was involved and there were no witnesses, only me. I did move the damaged truck off the property shortly and took it home and waited to deal with my vehicle insurance company for decision and policy for getting my wheels back so I can continue to go to places without transportation issue and it went well.

 

 

The reason I'm questioning was if anything related to the background check, I don't want to be denied for not submitting information. Just a thought. I know I have a long way to go, it just takes time even though I did feel kind of afraid to ask some questions on the forum such as "Did I submit my information right?" even though that is a loaded question and a lot of personal information. I don't know who to talk to about that either.

just pull your court records and submit it with the petition.

you sure you didnt have something when you were a teen/young adult that youre forgetting about?

There is nothing to go to court for.

Even if it's nothing criminal I think it's a good idea to find out why it's on your record and what it actually is.

I did it recently and there was no criminal history but a vehicle accident history did show up...

 

I'll do another one in a month and see what else will come up.
