There is a chance he was not 100% honest:

Ah I missed that part! Well at the end of the day the drug test from the medical won’t lie lol.

If he’s a regular user that will most definitely show up. If he last used in October and has only tried it a couple times like he claims then his drug test results will likely be negative. Whether or not he gets the visa without any sort of ban though is leaning towards unlikely imo.

I’ll be interested to hear if he does or not. Weed seems to be something that really depends on the individual case, the beneficiaries country, the CO and the medical doctors. Like I said, I’ve seen a lot of no bans and an odd 3 month ban from the uk but on the other hand I have seen people from Jamaica getting 1 year bans left and right just for simply admitting to past usage.

I Also think it’s important to note for any Canadians who might be reading this thread to be aware that even though recreational was legalized in Canada, it’s still illegal in the US on a federal level and legal usage in Canada could possibly result in the 1 year ban since they base their decisions and such off of US laws. So it’s not even worth risking it.

This is a medical issue, not a criminal issue.

do not reply to old threads, doing so is referred to as resurrecting zombie threads as the threads have died off from lack of activity.

this thread is now locked.

if one has questions regarding a similar situation, it is recommended they start a new thread.
