Hello Everyone,

I have sent my AOS after marrying my fiancée after going through all the paperwork hell she's finally settled here at home with me. However, I am now just reading that she should have applied for a SSN after entering the US. I misunderstood and thought it was after she got her greencard. My I-94 expired already so what are my options now? Do I just wait for her to get her greencard and then apply?

Thank you!

No I asked her if she would like a work permit but she's very shy and wants to work on her english before attempting working so I skipped that part. Was that a mistake?

She'll have to wait for her GC then, before she can apply for an SSN.

Thanks for the response! I figured that was the case.

Did she apply for advance parole?  If not, I would advise her to submit the I-131 with a copy of the NOA for the AOS paperwork.

She can still apply for both ead and ap. And she should even if she doesn’t plan on working and traveling for the foreseeable future.

no need to pay the fees associated with them, just make sure you send the receipt notice for the aos with the applications.
