Thank you so very much for all the information I'll be sure to keep that in mind 🤗

The $1100 a month after taxes is my income from Denmark ... it is taxed in Denmark and there's agreements between Dk and US regarding taxes so that'll be all I have to pay. My husbands income etc is around 60K a year. If he dies first I will return to Dk ... my family is here and the medical is absolutly free also my income will be double since I'm single so no way will I stay in the US if that scenario should occur. We will make sure to have a saving for me to be able to return to Dk in that case 😊

If I should need household assistance we would probably consider moving to Dk since the options are here are free.

If he dies before you, you may qualify for a widow's benefit from his Social Security. What/how is available depends on the country. Be sure he is aware of what is available to him if you die first.

Make sure you and he both understand the Medicare enrollment requirements and coordination of benefits with his health insurance.

Understand his retirement benefits.  Since you have children and he may as well, be sure your estate plan is up-to-date and takes into account your first families.  US laws may vary from what you are used to when it comes to inheritance, etc.  It is far more complex to marry when you are older than when first starting out without other obligations. You will need a qualified estate planning attorney to get this right.

I have found as we aged, things that we once did for ourselves we now have to employ people to do - heavy cleaning, yard cleanup, furniture moving, etc. My husband still worked a desk job but could not do the physical work. I am also now physically disabled and am unable to assist as I once did.  Even with a child helping out, it gets to be too much for him with his own responsibilities.

Best wishes for your future!
