If you were a Vermont filer put in a service inquiry, the date out of normal processing time is well into February 2019 now. I’ve put in two already and after both they updated the n400. After the first inquiry they finally acknowledged receipt of RFE and after the second a few days ago the n400 changed to we are actively reviewing the case. The service responses always state the i751 is in line with n400 for an interview, so yeah we regret applying together too, but obviously we didn’t expect Covid to happen. completion date is still July 2020 in mount laurel so 20 days will tell, but I have a feeling in 30 days we’ll have to start harassing uscis for an infopass appointment...

I put in a service inquiry today, we'll see what happens. On Reddit I saw someone say they were scheduled an interview for I751 (they didn't file n400) out of Mount Laurel for July 9th. They gave like a week notice before the interview, they also claimed they filed in October 2019... which is kinda irritating if it's true because we've been sitting here for almost 2 years clueless.

If we don't hear anything by the 21st of July,  we'll know the estimated completion date is a bunch of bs. Mine says July too and now July is haf way over with no word on anything.

Case inquiry from yesterday, does temporarily delaying interviews mean they’re not scheduling right now?

My case completion date was July 2020, but they removed it so it says nothing. I have the same office and the officer that called me back said no infopass appointments unless you have emergency travel... what bs is that! It's likely this office is closed and doing absolutely nothing in terms of interviewing. USCIS treating immigrants terrible with this, they could've just extended the green cards again, but no make us all worry about losing drivers licenses and potenitally jobs.

I have I got an info pass to get my passport stamped last Monday and on the 7th they sent me an RFE I did get the stamp though!  Just happy they actually took my case up not sure if that’s what triggered anything.

They sending RFE I notice for almost 90% of people because after waiting two years a lot must have changed

What is the validity of the stamp they give on passport?

Hello, long time updating because there has been no news and still no news. I have had zero luck with this part of the process, I called USCIS a few weeks ago as my extension was due to expire, today as it happens, as does my driver’s license and I was told that I don’t need a new one nor do I need a stamp as my status is removing conditions. I have remained patient and only called as I needed to about being out of status, they say that it cannot be escalated because it is still within normal processing times but it seriously sucks. Coming up on 2 years, contemplating on citizenship more and more the longer I wait. It amazes me that they do not process applications in order of receipt, if they really are just processing receipts of May 2018, then how the heck are people after that getting theirs! Just rhetorical but that’s my point of their statements. I would really feel better if I had some proof of eligibility but they won’t provide it, I feel it’s a lose lose situation right now.

I will not look back on this journey with fond memories, but I will look back knowing that every step was worth it, whatever the outcome.

I'm sorry to hear this, that's such a sucky situation for you. It just makes no sense that they don't pick up case in somewhat the right order. Several people who filed in late 2019 already have approvals, while others wait for years. It's as if they don't understand how much it messes things up when the proof of status expires. Or they do understand but don't care. ROC should NOT take longer than a year, it's such an easy and straight forward process that doesn't include affidavits of support, sponsors, address/work/school history and so on. It involves nothing but evidence of a bonafide marriage, how hard can it be?

And yes, definitely think about starting to fill out the N-400 online, even if you're not ready to file it just yet. You can keep it alive by updating something little every 30th day to avoid everything getting erased. It's such an easy and smooth application, nothing like the confusing paper version.

I'm sure you already know but I'm saying it anyway, file the N-400 before October 2nd to save yourself ~$500 in fees. That's when the fees go up and the citizenship application goes up with over 83%. I bet a ton of people will file before then just to save the extra $500, so the backlog may be even bigger then, though.

I think it’s crazy that USCIS is telling everyone something different about stamps and expired extension letters, if you call them again you’re likely to get a totally different story. You can get a stamp and an infopass appointment, but they (the person on the phone) has to deem it an emergency, there’s no set standard for getting a stamp. We were able to get an appointment after explaining our situation to three different people, someone finally said we could get one. Where we live licenses aren’t just being extended and it would be a financial hardship if my husband weren’t able to go to work everyday so the license is an emergency.

Still think it’s ridiculous USCIS couldn’t extended the letters with some kind of proof, they literally could’ve just given another letter. It’s also ridiculous I’ve seen I751’s filed in 2020 that have been approved and we’ve been waiting nearly two years... not fair.

One day someone who can afford a good lawyer is going to sue over these kind of things and win big.

I do have an update. So, I did get a bit annoyed and I decided to contact the ombudsman on Tuesday, quite frankly I was half expecting the same response as I’ve had “your case is within normal processing times” and well, I did. However, they did say that they contacted USCIS on Wednesday and that was what they were told, on Thursday (yesterday) my case was assigned to an officer and I should wait to hear from them and today my case was approved. So within 3 days it took from nothing to approved. I should be thankful and I am but why should I have to go to such lengths. We lost a loan because my paperwork expired on Monday, I can’t renew my license, I work for a government contract and couldn’t provide adequate documentation (they extended it luckily), ROC just shouldn’t take 20+ months and we shouldn’t have to go to such lengths to get some movement going.

Besides, all said and done, I have it and I am grateful. I’ve been in this process for so long now I don’t know how to live outside of it 😂 10 years will come around quick enough again.

I will not look back on this journey with fond memories, but I will look back knowing that every step was worth it, whatever the outcome.
