No you don't get another extension letter. Of you really need proof of your status (like if you get a new job or travel abroad), then you can call USCIS to ask for an appointment to get a stamp in your passport as proof. I don't know how that works now when field offices don't allow in-person meetings, but they probably have some kind of procedure for this kind of thing.

Just know that even if your extension letter expires, you status doesn't. The extension letter and greencard is only the proof of your status, they are not the status itself.

A-ha!  Thank you - that is comforting to know my status does not expire!

I'll give USCIS as I don't want to feel I can't fly to the UK in an emergency if need be.

Have you applied for citizenship? I’m in the same boat. I filed n400 one year after i751, and I’m waiting for either a combo interview, or an approval!

No - just the ROC - couldn't face going through another process just yet!  :)

Today my husbands N400 status changed to “deadline to respond to request has passed and case will take additional time to process”. Also, estimated completion time changed to taking longer than estimated, it originally said July 2020.

So we sent a case inquiry for the I751 being it’s been pending now for a year and a half... and it’s sat untouched in Mount Laurel since January, it was sent to Philly the day after we applied for citizenship in December and then Mount Laurel a month later. If the N400 is going to be pending indefinitely, the least they could do is move along with the I751 being it’s like 2 months until the extension runs out. We’ll see what they say.. if they say anything.

They haven’t responded to my service request yet for I-751 but I am getting some traction from my N-400 case. My estimated wait time has dropped from 2 months last week to now 29 days! Should hear about an interview within 29 days! Estimated case completion time September 2020 (3 months). :goofy:
I’m pretty sure I’ll be having a combo interview. I’m a Atlanta filer.

Hi, I am a new member here.  I would like to know if there is anyone who is in a similar timeline as mine.

I sent my documents for I-751 on December 24, 2018, and got NOA (18-month extension letter) with my receipt number #LINxxx on February 7, 2019. There has been no new development on my case since then. I haven't even got a notice for my biometrics appointment yet.

I have made inquiries 3 times on my case through e-request and I got answers saying "Biometrics appointments are scheduled based upon set protocol related to each application/petition and/or their associated processing times.  You will be scheduled for and notified of an appointment at the appropriate time." every time.

I understand that the processing time is getting longer. But, It seems most members here have already done biometrics and I have started to worry about my case...

Thank you.

ROC

12/24/2018:  I-751 documents sent (Dallas, TX)

12/28/2018: Documents delivered

02/07/2019: NOA received (Nebraska Service Center)

Received a response from USCIS about I751 being out of normal processing time... “your case is at the Mount Laurel, NJ office and is currently in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your case will remain at this step depends upon the number of cases ahead of yours. We hope this information is helpful and appreciate your patience.”

So nothing new from case inquiry.

The website has said transferred to the local office since January, that was the last update received for the I751. Unfortunately the inquiry didn’t show any new info that we didn’t already know.

I am pretty sure I am one of the last ones waiting for my husband's green card to be approved. We were notified in September that we would need to appear for an interview. So we applied for citizenship in December. Our combo interview was scheduled and then de-scheduled thank to COVID. We are now 2 weeks and 5 days from my husband's interview. We're really praying that it doesn't get canceled again.
