It was just a biometric (fingerprint) appointment.  We are still waiting for an extension letter in the mail.  Green card does not expire until the end of March.  If we do not get the extension letter by end of February, we will make an appointment to get an I-551 stamp in the passport.

USCIS told me I have to have it stamped otherwise I lose status. It’s compulsory I guess.

Here’s an interesting update; I went to my infopass appointment today and as soon as said that I hadn’t received my receipt yet, she said “yeh you and a thousand other people”.... wouldn’t let me speak. She said that they do not stamp passports there and I have to give them a chance to send the receipt and to allow 90 days, also NOAs are coming together with extension letters because they are so far behind. Biometrics are only meant to be done at the end of the application process otherwise you have to go back and have them redone. Was advised to apply for citizenship as those applications take presidency over any other ones so why wait 2.5 - 3 years for the 10 year GC. They’ll just do the two interviews together anyway.

I will not look back on this journey with fond memories, but I will look back knowing that every step was worth it, whatever the outcome.

So, we received a very interesting email today.

They receive our package on Dec 4, 2018 and we called them on Jan 3, 2018 because we hadn't received our NOA1. They told us they filled out a service request to get us the NOA1, so we waited.  The status page also said that the request was in, but nobody was assigned to it.  Today, they sent us an email (and the status page said the service request was "completed").  The email said the following. I just don't understand how only this one letter from USCIS was somehow undeliverable out of the 100's that we've received in the last 2 years I've been at this address (and we never had anything undeliverable from USPS).  It's a letter that they would put in our mailbox, I would assume .  It's the same address that we used when we filed and we haven't moved.  Good times...

Strange statement because I already had biometrics completed and it's only been a few weeks since filing the I-751.  Very strange that she refused to stamp your passport.

I know. I don't know who to believe anymore. As my field office won't do anything then I suppose I have no option but to wait for my receipt notice.

So I was pretty concerned about not getting biometrics so I called USCIS today.. They mentioned Biometrics has received and  they end up using my biometrics from previous application.. Also I saw an update on my USCIS account from yesterday as well.. no sure how this works but yeah! I have not received any letter stating that they end using my old biometrics.

Yup that's correct! :) So it does not show what update they did but its shows case was received on Jan 17th 2019. I was confused what really happened. So when I brought this up to the Rep , she mentioned USCIS officer don't mention what update they did but they end up touching your case.. that's weird!
